ik heb een extra harde schijf die ik niet meer aan de praat krijg
iemand een idee?

Wat zegt dat?

En de foutmelding vermeld dat dit commando ook nuttige info kan opleveren:
dmesg | tail

Doe eens:
sudo fsck /dev/hdb1
Hij zegt dat je root moet zijn, vandaar sudo ervoor.

Het tweede gedeelte ziet er niet goed uit, kans bestaat dat ie inderdaad stuk is.

Dat ziet er inderdaad niet goed uit.
Weet je zeker dat alle kabels goed vast zitten?
Heb je het al eens geprobeerd met andere kabels tussen de schijven en je moederbord?


Voor de zekerheid zou je met smartmontools nog kunnen kijken naar de SMART waarden.
Installeer het pakketje "smartmontools" in synaptic.
In de terminal kan je door de volgende commando's uit te voeren kijken wat de SMART fouten zijn:
sudo smartctl -a /dev/hdbsudo smartctl -H /dev/hdbEventueel kan je ook extra tests uitvoeren.
Hoe je dat doet kan je lezen door smartctl --help uit te voeren.

Die foutmeldingen in dmesg zijn sowieso niet goed.
Dan maakt het vrij weinig uit of die partitie ext3 is of wat anders.

Volgens de resultaten ondersteunt je schijf wel SMART, maar is deze niet ingeschakeld.

Voer het volgende uit in een terminal, en post de resultaten nogmaals hier.
sudo smartctl -s on /dev/hdb
sudo smartctl -a /dev/hdb
sudo smartctl -H /dev/hdb

Het ziet er naar uit dat er iets kapot is in je computer.
Ik weet alleen niet of het je harde schijf is of je moederbord, of misschien wel iets anders.

Met het volgende commando kan je schijf de opdracht geven om een korte test te doen.
sudo smartctl --test=short /dev/hdb
Misschien dat dat nog meer informatie geeft? (na enkele minuten weer sudo smartctl -a /dev/hdb doen)

de data op de schijf is niet super belangrijk.
en van de echt belangrijke heb ik een backup.
maar leuk is anders natuurlijk.

Als je de data die er op staat nog wil redden, zou je kunnen proberen om die schijf in een andere computer te proberen (misschien dat dat werkt).

Daarna direct een backup maken (niet je oude backups overschrijven, want er kunnen leesfouten optreden)

Als laatste de schijf op een enkele reis richting prullenbak sturen...

Via 'n ander topic kwam ik hier uit. Er is nog 'n laatste manier waarmee je kunt proberen data te redden van 'n kapotte disk, en dit is geen grap, al lijkt 't misschien zo.
Pak de disk zo goed mogelijk luchtdicht in tegen condens en leg 'm 'n nacht in de diepvries. Daarna zo snel mogelijk proberen de data eraf te halen, voor hij weer warm wordt. Deze truc lukt regelmatig.
