Hallo,

Ik heb vanmorgen de cd "Desktop" gedownload (v. 6.06) en op een cd gebrand.
Ik heb 2 monitoren op mijn computer aangesloten met de volgende videokaarten:
- NVIDIA riva tnt
- Matrox Graphics Millennium g200 sd pci

Bij het laden van Ubuntu gaat alles goed, maar zodra de desktop verschijnt gaat Ubuntu verder op het 2e beeldscherm (met Matrox kaart) en dan zie het beeld met strepen en blokken.

Hoe kan ik dit veranderen zodat ik een goede weergave krijg van de desktop op een van beide schermen? (welke is niet zo'n probleem)




Verder zou ik willen weten of ik met de desktop cd naast de live versie ook Ubuntu kan installeren op mijn pc (draait ook al windows).

probeer sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorgmisch helpt het.

vraag2
je kunt je windows partitie verkleinen, waardoor er ruimte vrijkomt voor ubuntu. De standaart instalatie instaleert ook grub deze laat je kiezen tussen de windows en linux bij het opstarten.

Hoi NESFreak,

Wanneer moet ik dat commando dan geven?
Bij het starten van de "live cd"?? Krijg ik dat probleem met beeldweergave.

Als ik de desktop zie kan ik de tekst niet lezen en niet zien wat er op de knoppen staat dus een command progje zoeken gaat niet zo makkelijk ;).

Ik heb alles doorlopen en ben via ctr+alt+F7 weer teruggekomen in de desktopomgeving maar het probleem blijft bestaan. Ik zal dadelijk eens kijken op ubuntuforums.org.

Heb net even zitten zoeken op ubuntuforums maar ik kan maar niks vinden.

Is het niet mogelijk dat ik een videokaart uitschakel zodat ik 1 monitor fatsoenlijk kan gebruiken (waarschijnlijk 1 waar het begin + de commando's op verschijnen) ?

Ik weet ook niet hoe ik de xonf kan veranderen.

probeer als driver vesa op te geven. dit werkt beina altijd. Wat voor kaart het ook is.(lees welke kaart het ook is)

Ik denk dat zijn probleem ligt in het feit dat de installer niet snapt dat er 2 vga kaarten tegelijk aangestuurd moeten worden.

Het lijkt mij het beste dat je even die Matrox eruit haalt, dus uit de computer, mede omdat dit een pci kaart is en dus later makkelijker door de wizard erbij te voegen is.

Dus kaart eruit, ubuntu installeren en als dat voor elkaar is en het loopt de andere kaart erin stoppen.

uhm misschien een rare vraag ?? ik had ff zitten zoeken maar kon zo gouw niet vinden wat dit voor kaart is  ?
Is die Matrox Nvidia of Ati ??

Want je andere kaart is wel Nvidia, en ik ben bang dat je problemen gaat krijgen met de drivers.

Ik heb driver Vesa opgegeven, maar er verandert niets.
Stel ik eigenlijk de gegevens in van de kaart voor monitor 1 of 2?
Dat is niet te kiezen in xserver-xorg.

Verder heb ik al geprobeert om die Matrox kaart eruit te halen, maar dan krijg ik een foutmelding dat het verkeerd geconfigureerd is. Dan kom ik nog niet eens tot de desktop omgeving.

Of het eens ati of nvidia is zou ik niet weten. Kan het ook niet vinden op internet.

Verder ben ik er nog steeds niet achte h

Hoe kan ik deze installeren? (mss onder Windows???)

Net nog eens de kaarten er een voor een ingedaan.

Bij de NVIDIa kaart:

Failed to start the X-server (your graphical interface).

dan klik ik op yes en vervolgens staan er heel wat dingen (ik weet van meer dan de helft niet wat het betekend ;)).

Bij Matrox kaart:

Had er een zwaar hoofd in, maar ik zit nu echt onder Ubuntu dit bericht te typen :D.
Het enigste probleem is dat de resolutie 1600x1200 is (ik moet 1280x1024 hebben) en als ik scroll in Firefox zie ik strepen over het scherm.

Het is in ieder geval een stap in de goede richting :)

Je kan die ouptut van de log even hier plakken (bijv. cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log)

Je kan in Ubuntu rechts bovenin voor de optie 'screen resolution' kiezen en hier deze veranderen.

Wanneer jouw videokaart deze hoge resolutie niet aankan, dan is er te weinig geheugen om alles goed weer te geven en zullen er idd verticale strepen ontstaan.

Je kan ook even verder spelen met Xorg.conf, maak dan eerst even een backup van de file. Dan kun je die andere kaart erbij doen en de Xserver reconfiguren.
Plak wanneer je dit probeert en bij mislukking ook je nieuwe /etc/X11/Xorg.conf hier.

Het zou moeten kunnen, alhoewel ik het zelf nog nooit gedaan heb. Je hebt waarschijnlijk gewoon een heel erg goede /etc/X11/xorg.conf nodig (heel goed configureren dus). Ikzelf heb dual-screen op 1 grafische kaart en dat werkt perfect (gelukkig)

Probeer anders eens Kubuntu, daar heb je de mogelijkheid via een soort van configuratiescherm naar beeldscherm(en) te gaan, bij mij staan er standaard 2 beeldshermen in om te configureren.
