Ik heb dit gevonden op een forum, klinkt dit logisch
Some Intel motherboards have ide controllers that are not natively compatible with linux. My system would not boot a linux live cd from my dvdrw when connected to the ide channel, but if I removed the dvdrw and hooked it up as an external usb drive, it loaded just fine. But it would not see the 40Gb hd also on the ide channel, while it would see my other sata hd. I finally gave up trying to use anything on my ide channels for linux and bought another sata drive. Then Ubuntu came out recently with Feisty, v7.04, and it now works fine on the ide channels for cd and hd drives. I have XP on one sata drive and I dual boot Vista and Ubuntu on the other drive. I choose in the bios which disk I want to boot, and if I choose the vista/linux disk, I get a boot menu to choose between them. If I choose the xp disk, it just boots to xp.
Try the 7.04 Ubuntu and I bet it will work. It is a very easy installation.
Ben nu de nieuwste Ubuntu aan het neerladen, zal me benieuwen, hahahaha...
Grtzzz... Capo.
