Ik heb  meerdere meerdere keren geprobeerd Amsn te installeren. Dat gaat via Synaptics prima. Allen als ik het progje opstart  krijg na opstarten direct de volgende melding:
Loading TrCximage failed. This module is needed to run aMSN. Please compile Amsn first, instruction on how to compile are located in the file install.

Verder kom ik niet. Die genoemde install file kan ik nergens vinden in het bestandssysteem. Weet iemand raad?

TCLTLS 1.5.0 is geïnstalleerd.

De website van Amsn heb ik ook al geprobeerd, maar daar krijg ik helemaal niets geïnstalleerd.

1) Download aMSN van de website.
2) Compileer-het-zelf (broncode downloaden van website)

Dit is heel raar. Bij mij installeert aMSN prima, op de normale manier, hoef ik niks voor te doen. Blijkbaar heb je een aangetast systeem: heb je soms ooit een installatiescript gebruikt, zoals Automatix, Envy of EasyUbuntu?

En als je aMSN via synaptic markeert voor volledige verwijdering en dan opnieuw installeert? Bij mij heeft het toen geholpen om aMSN weer aan de praat te krijgen, ik weet helaas niet wat voor foutmelding ik had...

Nou ik ben geloof ik weer net iets handiger dan ik dacht: zie deze link voor als dit probleem nog eens voordoet:

Dit werkte. Draai nu Amsn. Is er nog een goed handleiding hoe je je een cam werken krijg? Krijg nu de melding dat ik achter een firewall zit. Iets met NAT server of zo?? Heb een zyxel draadloos modem

Hoe haal ik automatix weer foetsie ?

Is er trouwens een wiki hoe je NAT goed instelt zodat draadloos de webcam kan draaien?

Ik had ook eens een progje wat niet goed werkten, maar na Automatix het uit mijn sourcelist gehaald te hebben werkten het perfect.
open je lijst in je terminal middels sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
en haal gewoon de regels van Automatix weg
opslaan en klaar
voer nog wel even sudo apt-get update & upgrade uit.

HEEFT IEMAND NOG EEN IDEE HOE IK DE CAM WERKEND KRIJG??? krijg constant de melding dat ik achter een firewall of router zit..... nou dat wist ik al. Volgens mij staat mijn zyxel draadloos modem cammen gewoon toe. Slaat deze melding op de ubuntu firewall??? en kan ik die bewerken zodat de cams wel doorkomen?

Zit op een draadloze laptop met alleen ubuntu

Je hebt dus toch Automatix gebruikt. Tja, wat je nu het beste kunt doen is dit: volledige schone herinstallatie. Met formatteren en al. Anders zul je af en toe blijven aanlopen tegen raadselachtige problemen.
