Auteur Topic: SCSI Quantum 18 Gb disk, Ubuntu fails to read partition table  (gelezen 1301 keer)

I tried to install ubuntu on my pc.
I have 3 scsi disks, of 3 different branches: quantum, seagate, compaq.

Whenever my quantum harddisk is plugged in,
ubuntu fails to boot, it stops with a prompt, right after a kernel panic.
fdisk fails to read the partition table.

When the quantum harddisk is disconnected,
ubuntu is up and running.

Meaby related to another hardware problem:
this disk only runs on my adaptec scsi,
the bios of tekram fails when this disk is plugged in.

Hi pelgrim,

Nederlands mag hier ook hoor :)

Heb je hem al eens opnieuw gepartitioneerd/fgeformatteerd?
