USB stick kan alleen read-only worden gemount.

Ik krijg bij het handmatig mounten op de command line onderstaande.

sudo mount -o rw /dev/sdc1 /mnt/usbstick
mount: /mnt/usbstick: WARNING: device write-protected, mounted read-only.
Het is een goedkope usb-stick van AliExpress. De gegevens zijn nog wel in te zien, maar write-protected krijg ik er niet af.
Met fdisk, mkfs.vfat, dosfsck en dd heb ik geen toegang tot mijn usbstick.
Hoe los ik dit op?

Ik heb ook gekeken of er een write-protect switch op de stick zit. Die zit er niet op. Alleen een klein gaatje.

Het is opgelost met onderstaand commando. Ik heb hdparm verandert van /dev/sdc /dev/sdc1.

sudo hdparm -r0 /dev/sdc1
Wel blijft het probleem dat als ik  de stick er opnieuw insteek. Eerst hdparm en een remount moet uitvoeren.

OK, ik vermoedde dat dit op niveau van het device zou werken. Ik stond op het punt te suggereren ook eens de partitie te proberen, maar heb het niet gedaan. Maar je hebt het zelf gevonden  :)

Dat het niet "blijft" heeft misschien toch met een schakelaartje te maken via dat gaatje?

Het is toch nog niet opgelost. Als ik een bestand verwijder, daarna stick eruit haal en erop nieuw insteek is het bestand nog gewoon aanwezig.

En als je na die sudo hdparm -r0 /dev/sdc1 opdracht gelijk met gparted o.i.d. gaat formateren?
Daarna stick verwijderen, computer herstarten en stick opnieuw plaatsen?

Voor die nog geen 3 euro gooide ik hem weg =D
Ik heb een stick die ik in de autoradio gebruik, die wel eens problemen geeft, opnieuw formateren en daarna de comp even opnieuw opstarten doet het bij mij altijd weer voor een tijdje...

Heb ik ook gehad bij een philips 16 gb USB stick
Als je bestanden opent op de USB stick MOET je die zeker sluiten voordat
je b.v. je pc of laptop afsluit en het Eject commando ook gebruiken.
kortom : zeer voorzichtig zijn bij bestandsbewerkingen op de USB stick
het kan uiteraard ook aan de kwaliteit van de USB stick liggen.
