Dat hielp ook niet krijg weer hetzelfde plaatje, wat als ik brother 4 helemaal verwijder?
Maar wat mij een beetje bevreemd is dat dit wel om een brother4 all in one is, en dus geen brother3 is.
Werkt dat dan wel...

Ja dat met lsusb heb je gelijk aan over USB, die kan dus ik niet als netwerk aio zien.

Neen, dit werkt dan dus helemaal niet wanneer je Brother4 verwijderd hebt, dat zie Xsane alleen nog maar de
USB HP-Scanner.

Ik ga nu geloven dat De Baas blijkbaar toch gelijk krijgt met zijn aanname. Ligt dat nu aan de Brother, de Fritz.box of aan Xubuntu, ik denk aan het eerste...

Het gaat toch om de MFC-J5910DW. Is het draadloze netwerk daarvan wel correct geconfigureerd? Is deze zichtbaar in de router met voldoende signaalsterkte? Als dat het geval is, dan zou je pas kunnen scannen wanneer deze gevonden wordt door commando scanimage -L [Enter] Met de hoofdletter L dus. De gebruikelijke manier om een draadloze All-in-One printers te installeren in Xubuntu, is via menu > Systeem  > Afdrukbeheer > Toevoegen > Netwerkprinter. Als de Brother drivers correct zijn geïnstalleerd, zou deze vrij snel worden getoond. Zodat je deze kunt selecteren en  > Volgende > Toepassen.

Heb ik gedaan Joop, hoewel het wordt afgeraden door 't Ubuntu software centrum. Gaat immers om een niet officieel pakket maar om een omgebouwd/aangepast .rpm bestand. (Misschien werkt het wel onder het .rpm...maar ben ik ook nog niet tegengekomen)

Jolo, ik heb het nu net zoals jij gezegd hebt toegevoegd ald netwerkprinter, maar de scanner zie ik nog steeds niet, enig idee dan waarom ik de scanner dan niet herkent, of ziet?

scanimage -L geeft alleen de usb-scanner weer...

Waarom werken ze dan niet allemaal. Heb nu zelfs het geprobeerd als een draadloze AIO printer/scanner.
Als printer doet het alles wat ik wens, maar scannen zit het er volgens mij niet in, of zit er een programma tussen dat misschien tegenwerkt?

Nu mag het wel duidelijk zijn:

Volgens mij blijkt het niet anders te zijn, ook de Fritz.box kan dit ook niet aan en XP weigert het usb-gedeelte te accepteren, behalve de HP PSC 1410, die heb ik er zelfs afgehaald en weer opnieuw geïnstalleerd zonder dat het systeem XP gelijk weer stopt. Iets dat nog wel gebeurt onder XP met alle andere USB-zaken!

Dat klopt niet hoor de Brother staat net als de HP allemaal standby, net als nu dus...

Kan een Brother aio ook HPLIP geïnstalleerd zijn...?

Dat is op zich niet zo vreemd dat ze er dubbel in staan. Ze staan immers ook dubbel in de configuratie. Misschien is het beter om er, van elk, HP & Brother, er een weg te halen/verwijderen.

Waarom er geen IP adres is, dat snap ik dus ook niet. Heb jij enig idee?

Klopt dit? Alleen de HP staat erin, maar ook wel logisch...want de Brother is een netwerk aio.

als die Brother-MFC-J5910DW op de (pc)usb wordt aangesloten
en dan die HPPSC1400 op de Fritz!box 7360 Router
Hp is een stuk gebruiksvriendelijker

Op zich heb je wel gelijk...ware het niet dat de Brother niet werkt op USB-poorten... in XP sowieso niet dan stopt het fijne XP...en onder Linux kreeg ik het ook toen niet aan het printen onder USB, Joop.
Pas als netwerkprinter is de brother pas aan het printen gegaan (linux & xp) en ja ik weet natuurlijk dat het scannen niet lukt...ook niet vanaf het netwerk. De HP heeft daar geen probleem mee, als ie, die brother, het dan maar deed onder USB in XP, maar ja.... :(

Misschien moet je xp herinstalleren of gewoon verwijderen (troep) :)
Brother-MFC-J5910DW die moet kunnen werken onder USB Xubuntu ook de scanner
