Allereerst moet je het woordje niet meer vergeten ??
Hiermee krijg je tijdelijke root rechten waardoor je alles kan openen of bewerken.

De grafische tekst-bewerken in Ubuntu heet

Dus indien je de source.list wilt bewerken of tekst eruit wilt kopieeren is de juiste opdracht in terminal:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.listff je wachtwoord ingeven en voila het wonder opent zich ....

Note : Bij alles wat ik zeg ga ik ervanuit dat je Ubuntu hebt en niet een flavour van de partner projecten. !

Je source.list 'en zijn nogal een puinhoop of op zijn minst rommelig te noemen
Omdat je wilt upgraden gaan we die "sources.list.distUpgrade" even bijwerken.

Je opent hem via Terminal met:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.distUpgradeNu wis je alle tekst die erin staat. ( ff met de muis erover of Ctrl+A en dan de Delete knop)

Nu kopieer je alle tekst die ik hier neerzet en plak je dat in die sources.list.distUpgrade.
Opslaan - klaar.

Goed nu we de juiste bronnen erin hebben gezet zou je moeten kunnen Upgraden naar een nieuwe Distributie, eg Hardy.

In principe zou je kunnen wachten totdat de update manager na een uurtje ofzo opkomt in de rechtbovenhoek, maar we kunnen hem ook direct oproepen vanuit terminal.

met de opdracht:

gksu "update-manager"(BTW om de Terminal snel op te roepen kan je de toetsen Alt+F2 indrukken)

Je krijgt nu de update manager voor je neus

En je klik op de knop waar "check" staat.

Als hij klaar is zal je in de update manager aan de bovenkant hetvolgende te zien krijgen:

Klik nu op de knop "Upgrade"
En volg de instructies op je scherm.

Zodra je hebt gereboot start je op in Hardy.

 alles ging prima zoals voorgesteld maar na

geen melding van nieuwe distributie meer

wel als ik hem gewoon open in menu baar of met "update-manager" maar krijg dan na "upgraden" weer melding:Kon de versie-informatie niet downloaden ...controleer uw... verbinding

tja nog altijd 't zelfde....
 ook melden dat na pakket informatie ophalen en
zoeken naar beschikbare updates  eigenlijk geen lijst komt alhoewel er 55 bestanden opgehaald (zouden) worden .
het programma soft toevoegen en verwijderen werkt ook perfekt

 bij proxyserver vond ik automatische proxiconfiguratie aangevinkt zonder adres  en direkte internetverbinding niet aangevinkt!!!!!
de boel omgekeerd en
daarna kon ik upgraden zoals vroeger in een uurtje tijd ongeveer !!!
(!enkel schermresolutie aan passen)
