Op deze Lenovo wil ik naast windows ubuntu installeren. Met secure boot aan wil de installatie usbstick booten. Is het dan nog nodig om secure boot uit te zetten? Misschien voor installatie van grub op de efi partitie?
Loop ik risico dat windows niet meer wil booten? Het is een nieuwe laptop en dan vind ik het riskanter om de installatie te doen dan op een 2dehands laptop.

Die hinderlijke flauwekul van Secure Boot kun je beter sowieso uitzetten.... Het biedt immers in de praktijk geen extra veiligheid, terwijl het wel lastig kan zijn.  ;)

Ik lees dat kernel en drivers door Microsoft moeten worden goedgekeurd en daarna gesigneerd. Microsoft kan, mits secure boot enabled een besturingssysteem laten tegenhouden. Drivers die closed source zijn voortrekken tegenover opensource drivers. Als drivers closed source zijn is de veiligheid nog te betwijfelen.
