mysqld: Can't create IP socket: Permission denied

Hallo,

Ik probeer al enige tijd mysql te installeren op Jaunty.
Het lukt mij echter niet om hem te starten:

$ mysqld

En als ik mysql_upgrade uitvoer, dan krijg ik ook een error met een socket:

Er is dus iets mis met de socket o.i.d.
Maar wat?

En hoe kan ik dit oplossen.

Het gaat om mysql-server-5.0, maar 5.1 geeft hetzelfde probleem.

The error (2002) Can't connect to ... normally means that there is no MySQL server running on the system or that you are using an incorrect Unix socket file name or TCP/IP port number when trying to connect to the server. You should also check that the TCP/IP port you are using has not been blocked by a firewall or port blocking service.

I had this problem, it actually appears to be a problem with apparmor blocking mysql's IP socket. I removed apparmor, and that solved the problem. There should be a better fix, though...

Bedankt voor je reactie.
Ik weet dat de mysql server niet gestart is, (ik krijg hem namelijk niet gestart).

De laatste link die je gaf was ik ook al tegengekomen, maar ik heb geen firewall o.i.d. draaien.
