Kan gnometris niet starten onder ubuntu 9.10

Ik kan gnometris niet opstarten. Zie hier de uitvoer in een terminal:

Hoe kan ik dit oplossen? Ik heb al geprobeerd het programma met de configuratiebestanden via synaptic te verwijderen en terug te installeren maar het helpt niet!

Bij mij start het programma wel op in de terminal, geeft wel meldingen ook met --sync achter het commando.
