hoi,
zijn er mensen die deze printer werkende hebben in 8.1O
welke drivers zijn er eventueel beschikbaar/of drivers andere epson types
wat kan gebruikt worden daarvoor

Als ik bij de laatste updates van die driver zie dan staat er tussen.

Het natuurlijk niet verstandig om jaunty nu al te draaien, omdat deze nog niet echt stabiel is en bij updates kan stuk gaan.

For the Epson:
First, the cups and gutenprint packages must be installed if they're not.
Start the cupsd daemon if it's not yet started.
With any browser, go to <http://localhost:631/>
Now, click [Add Printer] and follow instructions.
Enter general info in the first page (printer symbolic name and description).
In the second page, choose a backend.
Since it seems to be a USB printer, an entry containing the printer name and the word USB, should appear in the list. Select it.
If it's not there, then, most probably, there's a low level issue with USB.
(e.g. it might be disabled in the BIOS setup)
In that case, you should check the output of /usr/libexec/cups/backend/usb, check whether you've a /dev/usblp0 (or /dev/usb/lp0) device and whether you can output data to them.
Have a look at /proc/bus/usb/devices, etc.

Assuming you've no USB issue, select the brand and model name in the next form pages.
Now, print a test page.

You may read tutorials and HOWTOs about cups. Just google for it.
