Ik had zojuist aMSN via synaptic geinstalleerd. Mijn vriendin zit op MSN op de Vista computer en stuurde mij een wink. Kreeg gelijk een venster voor mijn snufferd dat er een bug in aMSN zat en of ik het foutenrapport wilde verzenden. Ik, braaf als ik ben, druk op foutenrapport verzenden. Krijg ik de melding dat deze versie niet meer ondersteund wordt. Dan download ik de laatste versie toch? Via de officiele site. Maar nu zit ik met het probleem dat ik hem niet kan installeren. Ik haalde eerst aMSN binnen wat eindigde op .package Deze wist ik niet te openen. Dan download ik de versie die je moet uitpakken met Archiefbeheer. Deze moet je compileren? (zeg ik dit goed?)
Maar hoe werkt dat? Dit zou ik ook best wel eens willen leren. Ik heb net in het Install textbestandje gekeken waarin het wordt uitgelegd, maar ik snap er de ballen van.
(voordat iemand zegt dat ik een andere IM moet gebruiken.....aMSN vind ik heerlijk werken

In order to install amsn, or even to be able to launch it, you will need to compile it first.
To do so, you must first configure the package by executing the command
> ./configure
You must have the tcl-dev and tk-dev packages installed on your system, please refer to your system package management software or website in order to find these packages and to install them prior to running the ./configure script.
Once the configure script finished without any error, you can proceed with the compilation, it is as simple as typing :
> make
You can now launch amsn by typing
> ./amsn
Or you can install it with the command
> make install
Then you can use the
> amsn
command to launch future sessions of amsn.
You can also create a .deb and .rpm package by launching respectively the command
> make deb
and
> make rpm
