Voor de eigenaars van een Belgische identiteitskaart met chip en een kaartlezer op hun pc/laptop is er nu ook in Ubuntu een programma om deze af te lezen.
sudo apt-get install eidviewer
Ofwel in de synnaptic pakketbeheer op zoeken klikken en daar eidviewer mee installeren.
application to read out information from the Belgian electronic ID card
This application allows the user to read out any information from a
Belgian electronic ID card, by using libeid and libbelpic to read the
data from the card and parse it. Both identity information and
information about the stored cryptographic keys can be read in a
user-friendly manner, and can easily be printed out or stored for later
reviewal.
The application verifies the signature of the identity information,
checks whether it was signed by a government-issued key, and optionally
checks the certificate against the government's Certificate Revocation List
(CRL) and/or by using the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) against
the government's servers.
Maar naar 't schijnt zou er nog een bugje inzitten: a bug in the firefox/mozilla plugin
Het zou reeds hersteld moeten zijn maar de verbeteringen zijn nog niet in de Ubuntu pakketlijsten doorgevoerd.
Ik heb zelf geen kaartlezer maar wie 't aan de praat krijgt in bijvoorbeeld Opera mag 't me altijd ff laten weten.
