Tixati versie 1.37 beschikbaar! (BitTorrent client)
« Gepost op: 2010/06/10, 23:47:23 »

Vandaag is de nieuwe Tixati versie 1.37) verschenen, een BitTorrent client waarmee je zo'n beetje alles naar je eigen wensen kunt aanpassen! (een .deb package voor Ubuntu is ook beschikbaar!)

Tixati is nog vrij onbekend maar zelf gebruik ik dit programma al enige tijd tot volle tevredenheid en enkele van mijn suggesties zijn ondertussen al toegepast in nieuwe versies!

Tixati algemeen:

Tixati is a new and powerful BitTorrent client.
100% free, contains no spyware, no ads, and no gimmicks
Windows and Linux native versions available

Why use Tixati?

Ultra-fast downloading algorithms
DHT, PEX, and Magnet Link support
Super-efficient peer selection and choking
Advanced bandwidth control and charting
RC4 connection encryption for added security
Advanced views of peers, pieces, files, and trackers
Detailed event logging for all transfers and individual peers

Over Tixati versie 1.37:

Version 1.37 is now available for download!

There are numerous improvements in this new version.

The settings window is now separate from the main window, and has been completely redesigned.

An optional automatic bandwidth limiter for DSL/Cable internet connections has been introduced. This works by pinging your closest router to measure latency and adjusts the throttle to keep delay under a configurable amount. The various parameters and rules are user configurable, and are presented in a tabbed window that also features a RTT graph and event log. You can activate this feature and change the settings by going to the Bandwidth View and clicking the Details button on the right side. More details about this feature can be found on the Automatic Bandwidth Limiter help page at http://www.tixati.com/help/100/autothrottle.html. This feature is still experimental, so let us know how it works.

The bandwidth throttles are now set in KB/s instead of B/s.

Several new optional columns have been added. In the transfers view, bytes in, bytes out, stop seeding ratio, and time seeding columns have been added. In the peers view, a flag column has been added.

The time-left column on seeding transfers will now show estimated time until seeding goal ratio is met if one is configured. The time-left field in the details view is the same.

New seeds that have been created locally from scratch have an icon to indicate this in the transfers view name column and in the details tab.

There are now two default stop seeding ratio settings, one for regular seeds, one for locally created seeds.

Seeding options have been added to the right-click context menu for transfers. This allows multiple transfers to be adjusted simultaneously.

There are now options to recycle unused queue slots between seeds and downloads. If enabled, unused seeding slots will be used for extra downloads, and if there are few downloads, the extra download slots will be used to run more seeds.

Multi-tracker torrents can now optionally announce to all tiers simultaneously. This can be configured under the Trackers section of the settings window.

Chunked HTTP tracker responses are now supported. Tracker response error reporting now includes more detail.

Informational seed and peer counts returned from trackers are now included in the Status column in the trackers property tab.

Options for display of bytes throughout the whole program are now much more flexible. These new options can be found in the Settings window under the User Interface - Output Formatting section. These options now default to KB everywhere.

IPv6 support has been greatly improved. Location information for IPv6 peers is now included, and 6to4 and Teredo addresses are now translated for location information from the IPv4 database.

The IPv4 and IPv6 location databases has been updated to reflect recent allocations, so seeing 'Unknown' in the location column should be rare.

Tray balloon download completion notifications are now supported in Linux. These are sent using the DBus interface to 'notification-daemon'. As long as this package is installed, the notifications should appear.

Several other minor improvements and bug-fixes have been made to the user-interface and core.

Thanks to everyone that submitted comments and suggestions!!! This input is very valuable to us.

We really need everyone's help to get more users. If you like Tixati, please tell a friend. If you don't like it, or want to see something improved, please tell us.

Several users have asked for a decentralized chat feature. We are working on it, and this is a high priority. We are also working on IPv6 support for the DHT.

Enjoy the new version!
