Welke dock

Hallo. Ik wil een moie dock onderaan men scherm.

Mijn pc is een: Pentium 3 500 Mhe en 8 MB videokaart. Ik draai ubuntu

Kan iemand me enkele namen geven (geen gDesklets)

Dit hoort niet thuis in etalage, daarom verplaats ik hem even.

Veel van de docs hebben een composite manager nodig. bv awn, cairo dock.

gOS gebruikt wel een mooie dock maar ik weet niet juist welke.
Wat je natuurlijk ook kan doen is het gnome paneel aanpassen.
rechtse klik op paneel > Eigenschappen > vinkje weg bij uitschuiven > een beetje groter maken > en bij achtergrond op transparant zetten.

Cairo dock heeft boven de dock zelf een zwarte band. Nog tips?

Ja, een composite window manager gebruiken zoals Compiz.
Maar dat gaat op een dergelijke configuratie hoogstwaarschijnlijk niet werken.
Of tergend langzaam.

kibadock heeft geen compiz of iets dergelijks nodig, staat gloof ik ook gewoon in de repo's

The black bar might is related to Composite Extension.

This Xlib Extension is required for the transparency of the Kiba Window.

Please search for Composite Extension in a Wiki for your Distribution to get the Info howto enable it.

You also need a Composite Manager, these managers may offer some additional effects then Transparency, the most shiny one out there is probably compcomm/beryl /compiz . But you could also use a leightweight Composite Manager with less features, like xcompmgr.

 

When you have Composite Extension enabled, a Composite Manager running and you still have a black bar, then you might be using Glitz with unsupported graphics card drivers. You have to wait for better drivers for your graphics card, please try to recompile kiba without glitz support, .
