Als ik een systeem heb dat open-source is, verwacht ik dat ik zelf de broncode kan compileren. Echter, een zeer eenvoudig configure scriptje draaien heeft tot resultaat dat ik de volgende foutmelding krijg:

Welk programma wil je compilen?
Als je in Synaptic kijkt zie je dat er verschillende compilers zijn en zelfs verschillende versies van bijv. gcc.
Je zal dus in de documentatie van het programma moeten kijken welke versie van welke compiler je moet gebruiken.

Op welke methode probeer je dit te compileren?
Voor puur c gebruik ik meestal gewoon
gcc progje.c -o progje
-o gebruik ik omdat hij anders gewoon a.out aanmaakt.
waarbij progje.c je broncode bestand is.
Met build-essential heb je normaal alles wat je nodig hebt. toch voor simpele dingen.

Ik weet dat er ergens een pakket is dat ik moet hebben om te compileren en dat ik niet heb. build-essentials zal hoogstwaarschijnlijk een meta-pakket zijn dat o.a. libc6-dev en nog wat dingen die ik nodig zou moeten hebben installeert. En ik gebruikte gcc test.c (het heette test.c) zonder de -o, omdat ./configure faalt op het gedeelte waarbij de standaardnaam van de compiler (a.out) getest moet worden.

Okee, het werkt nu . Ik ben feitelijk gewoon dat de libc-dev headers standaard zijn geinstalleerd (bij andere distro's was dit zo). Nu heb ik nog wat problemen met gcc compileren, daar zal ik jullie liever niet mee lastig vallen, 't klinkt nogal technisch....
