Ik heb nu sinds een paar dagen Ubuntu 7.10. En nu wilde ik wine installeren, maar als ik dat wil doen zegt ie het volgende:
Depends: ia32-libs but it is not going to be installed
Depends: lib32asound2 (>1.0.14) but is not installable
Depends: libc6-i386 (>=2.6-1) but is not installabe

Ik gebruik de 64-bit versie van Ubuntu 7.10.
Weet iemand of er een oplossing is?

Ja, ik dacht dat het nu wel ging inderdaad. Ik heb de stappen op winehq.org gevolgd en uitgevoerd. Toen met Synaptic geprobeert te installeren. Maar dan komen de bovenstaande errors.

Welke 'stappen'? Gebruik de handleiding op de Ubuntu wiki en misschien moet je zelfs een 32-bit chroot opzetten.

Vraagje, hoort niet hier thuis, moet eigenlijk een eigen topic starten maar het antwoord hierop is kort:

Ik heb mijn Wine nu aan de gang en er draaien 32-bit programma's op..
Maar een OS zou ik niet weten.

Al zou ik je aanraden geen winXP via Wine te installeren, dan kun je denk ik beter VMware Linux Edition downloaden. Of een gratis variant van een virtual machine programma.

Winxp installeren in Wine kan ook helemaal niet.

Wil je een complete virtuele Windows installatie, neem dan Virtualbox of VMware.

Uiteraard, stomme vraag. Bedoelde eigenlijk of ik "gewone" programma's die onder winXP 32 bit werken (dus gewoon office etc) kan draaien als ik de 64 bit Ubuntu en wine gebruik. Deze vraag in verband met mijn nieuwe moederbord. Ik heb nog een oude Office die ik daarop zou willen proberen. Elke keer heropstarten voor overschakelen irriteert na verloop van tijd. Ik wilde eigenlijk vmware infrastructure 3, maar die is veel te duur

Ik denk van wel, aangezien je op een 64-bit ubuntu ook native 32-bit programma's kunt installeren.
Probeer eens een  eenvoudig 32-programmatje te installeren, de K-meleon ofzo. als dat werkt, zal een groter programma ook wel werken.
Aan de andere kant denkt ik niet dat MS office uberhaupt werkt in wine.
