Probleempje bij installeren GIMP#

Ik probeer GIMP# te installeren.

Hier moet Mono voor geinstalleerd zijn, volgens pakketbeheer is bij mij  versie 1.2.4 van mono geinstalleerd.

Ik heb GIMP# gedownload en uitgepakt in mijn homemap.

Nu moet deze op de volgende manier geinstalleerd worden:

Building Gimp# is easy:

1) unpack the archive
2) $ cd gimp-sharp-0.13
3) $ ./configure
4) $ make
5) become root
6) $ make install

Bij mij gaat het fout bij stap 3:
Ik doe daar: sudo ./configure

Maar ik krijg de volgende foutmelding: configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

Wie weet waar dit aan kan leggen

Aangezien GIMP simpelweg in de repositories van Ubuntu zit, zou ik toch voorstellen dat je gewoon het programma installeert via de normale procedure, t.t.z. via toepassingen>installeren/verwijderen of eventueel via Synaptic. De methode die jij gebruikt is meer ambachtelijk en je beperkt (volgens mij) de mogelijkheden om automatische updates en dergelijke te bekomen.
Als je "gewoon" installeert zoals ik voorstel, zal Ubuntu automatisch alle afhankelijke bestanden mee installeren.

Oke ik ben al wat verder door build-essential te installeren.

Het gaat nu een poosje goed maar dan komt de melding dat mono niet geinstalleerd is, terwijl volgens pakketbeheer versie 1.2.4 geinstalleerd is.

Het gaat niet om GIMP maar om GIMP#

OK, ik had op dat hekje moeten letten. Vervelend is wel dat je (althans in Google) bij het zoeken naar "Gimp#" enkel informatie krijgt over de gewone GIMP-website en niet over de programmeertaal waarvoor Gimp# kennelijk staat.

Ik heb Profox maar een mailtje gestuurd om dat hij hier een beetje de GIMP expert is tog :p

Maar misschien hebben andere leden hier toch ook nog wat ideetjes.

Daarom post ik hier ook nog maar de berg info. Even de hele installatie en alles wat ik tegen kwam op een rijtje:

GIMP# is een framework voor het eenvoudig programmeren van plugins voor GIMP.
Echt heel goed! Als je de news pagina doorneemt, weet je ongeveer welke functies er nu zoal inzitten
Er worden ook wat plugins bij geleverd, zoals een super goede slice tool.
 
Ik heb zitten proberen om versie 0.13 op Ubuntu te installeren. Maar kom er niet uit.
 
Volgens het install bestand bij de download is het installeren simpel:

Dit kom ik tijdens de installatie tegen:
 
Als ik bij stap 3 kom (configure) dan kom er achter dat het volgende eerst nog geïnstalleerd moet worden:
 
- build-essential
- libmono-dev
- mono-gmcs
 
Tot zover gaat alles goed. Maar dan komt iets lastigs:
 
Je moet ook gimptool geinstalleerd hebben.
Dat ga ik dus doen. Deze heet in pakketbeheer libgimp2.0-dev
Maar als ik deze dus wilt installeren komt de melding dat deze hoort bij gimp 2.4 rc (de GIMP versie die standaard bij Ubuntu 7.10 zit)
Maar ik heb dus een keer handmatig GIMP 2.4.2 geinstalleerd. Vervolgens kan ik niks op internet vinden over gimptool voor GIMP 2.4.2
Ik heb dus weer GIMP 2.4 rc geinstalleerd, dan gaat het allemaal goed.
 
Maar ik krijg wel de volgende meldingen aan het einde:

Vervolgens gaat het weer helemaal fout bij stap 6 (make install)

Ok dit was alles wat ik tegen kwam.
 
Gisteren is versie 0.14 online gezet van GIMP#. Ik stop dus met uitproberen met versie 0.13.
Voor GIMP# 0.14 heb je wel minstens Mono 1.2.6 nodig, Bij Ubuntu zit 1.2.4 Hoe krijg ik deze geüpdatet?

Er zijn een hoop programma's en pakketten in Ubuntu afhankelijk van mono. Zomaar updaten gaat dan ook niet werken. Ik denk dat je dan Hardy moet gaan gebruiken.
