Ik heb een nieuw scherm geïnstalleerd, een Philips 220EW 22 inch. De driver liet zich eenvoudig installeren vanop de cd, ik kan na het selecteren van het juiste scherm ook kiezen voor resolutie "1680 x 1050" en het scherm werkt zoals het hoort. Alleen, bij het heropstarten van Ubuntu Feisty valt de resolutie terug op 1280 x 1024. Hoe kan ik ubuntu de scherminstellingen ook laten onthouden bij heropstarten?

Ik stel de resolutie in via systeem > Beheer > Screen and Graphics model Philips 220EW (21.6 inch LCD MONITOR) en Resolution 1680 x 1050 at 60Hz... Duw ik op ok dan krijg ik de juiste resolutie te zien. Bij het heropstarten heb ik weer de oude resolutie, met de juiste scherminstellingen. De driver haalde ik  van het bijgeleverde scherm.

Da's een hele boterham. Vooreerst heb ik xorg.conf samen met xorg.conf1-tot-en-met-6. De xorg.conf geeft:

kun je hem misschien is instellen in systeem -> voorkeuren -> schermresolutie

Dat zal het niet zijn denk ik, want hij gebruikt nog steeds de open source driver.

Je moet via de restricted drivers mananager (Systeem>Beheer>Beperkt Ondersteunde Stuurprogramma's) de Nvidia driver installeren.
Hierna kan je met het commando sudo nvidia-settings je beeldscherm goed instellen.

Oeps, dat was het dus. Via systeem > voorkeuren > schermresolutie kan je de resolutie als standaard instellen. Dom van me. Sorry voor de overlast!

kijk die eerste is een level hoger van wat kan mijn beeldscherm, die 2e is van wat jij als persoonlijk wil gebruiken dus je broertje oid kan een andere voorkeur hebben als hij met zijn eigen naam inlogt
