Just to inform you that the following worked for me, with no further tweaks on a fresh and up to date installation. I have the NVIDIA proprietary drivers installed:
1 – Add the following line to /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1280×1024 // or whatever is your native resolution
2 – On the terminal, execute: echo FRAMEBUFFER=y | sudo tee /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash
3 – sudo update-grub
sudo update-initramfs -u
There seems to be no need to use uvesafb. Am I wrong?
Zo heb ik het ook gedaan, werkt perfect.
Het GRUB menu is al 1920x1200 en dat blijft zo zolang de computer is opgestart, geen gekke switches meer en de VTs hebben ook allemaal een mooi beeld
Dat was met andere manieren wel anders... gekke wisselingen, artifacts, onbruikbare VTs enz.
Voor Nvidia is dit de beste oplossing.
