* Start up Outlook so that you can use it's DLL access to the data
* Start up Thunderbird and use the File|Import wizard to import mail from Outlook. This creates a bunch of mbox formated files inside a directory structure that matches the Outlook folder structure from which they came.
* Exit Outlook and Thunderbird.
* Copy the new mail files and directories from the Thunderbird profile Mail directory into the Evolution profile Mail directory. In my case, this meant copying to a whole new machine. I put them under the local mail directory.
* Start up Evolution. If all went well, Evo should notice the files and directories and show them as mail folders in the "On This Computer" folder.

Ik heb het zelf overigens anders gedaan. Ik heb een Gmail account aangemaakt, die ik vervolgens heb geïnstalleerd in Outlook. Toen dat gelukt was, heb ik ALLE mappen en mails van Outlook naar de Gmail-box gesleept (binnen Outlook dus...). Dit resulteerde in een nogal langdurige kopieer-actie, maar uiteindelijk stond alles in Gmail. (Wel eerst ff checken, niets zo maar aannemen!)
Sinds die tijd, werk ik vanuit Gmail, met allerlei verschillende programma's, zoals Thunderbird, Evolution, Outlook en Prism. En ik heb op ieder PC altijd en overal toegang tot mijn mail. Hieroe heb ik binnen Gmail de Imapfunctie aangezet. Daarover is genoeg op Internet te vinden, dus dat ga ik hier niet uit zitten leggen.
