ls -rtl /dev/*sd*

Mijn vraag is dus:
Moet ik dit commando
  sudo synce-serial-config ttyUSB0

System>preferences>palm OS devices (from the main Ubuntu menu)
of
System>preferences>PDAs > PocketPC  (sync PocketPC's when connected)

Goed,

he Driver entry

Second you look at the Driver entry. Read more in the apropriate section below.

Driver=ipaq or Driver=usbserial Your kernel driver recognized your device, good!

Driver=(none) Your kernel driver did not recognize your device. You need to perform some special configuration:

1.

Only if your Linux kernel is 2.6.10 or later: please send a mail to synce-devel@lists.sourceforge.net and tell us...
1. your kernel version
2. brand and model of your device
3. vendor/product USB IDs for your device (see Vendor= and ProdID=)
2.

Follow the instructions in Appendix A to add options like this, but replace the red digits with the corresponding ones from the output from the command you ran earlier:

vendor=0x049f product=0x0003

3.

If you have the file /etc/rc.local, open it with a text editor and add this line in order to have things working directly next time you restart your computer:

/sbin/modprobe ipaq

4.

Now run these commands to reload the ipaq module:

rmmod ipaq
modprobe ipaq

Unfortunately, this probably won't work with a Pocket PC that's too new. At the time of this writing, SynCE did not yet support the most recent Pocket PC operating system, Windows Mobile 5.0.
Citaat
Testing the Connection
Now it's time to give it a try. Make sure your Pocket PC is connected to your computer, and start the dccm daemon. Without arguments, it will run in the background. Since this is its first time out, I suggest starting it in the foreground (-f) with debugging enabled (-d 4):
bjepson@ubuntu:~$ dccm -d 4 -f
dccm[4599]: Running in foreground
dccm[4599]: Listening for connections on port 5679

Open another terminal and start up SynCE:
tarzan@ubuntoo2:~$ sudo synce-serial-start
synce-serial-start is now waiting for your device to connect

Hello

One week ago I spent one sunday afternoon trying to compile all the things needed to sync my PocketPC with KDEPIM. When it finally worked, I wrote a quite long howto, so that I will be able to do it again if necessary.

I tried this howto on a clean Kubuntu computer and the compilation worked.

Please do FIRST set up synce-serial to connect to your Pocket PC and if this works THEN you can go on with this howto.

At the moment I must disable my firewall Firestarter to sync.

For a general howto on how to connect your pocket pc with ubuntu, have a look a t the official synce- website

Citaat
Configuring PDA and Smart Phone Recognition
The GNOME desktop recognizes PDAs running the Palm OS, PDAs running Microsoft Windows CE, PDAs
running Microsoft Windows, Pocket PC edition, and most types of smart phones running any of these oper-
ating systems, and can be configured to automatically run specific applications when a device running the
Palm OS or some teeny, tiny version of Windows is connected and you request synchronization. These are
all considered to be PDAs by Ubuntu Linux. Configuring how and if your system recognizes different types
of PDAs is done by selecting the System ➪ Preferences ➪ Removable Drives and Media Preferences, and
then selecting the PDAs tab, as shown in the dialog in Figure 17.3.

    * PDAs running Palm OS: Select the Sync Palm devices when connected checkbox to activate a
specified application when you request synchronization from your Palm. When this checkbox is
selected, Ubuntu is configured to run the gpilotd-control-applet panel applet when a
Palm Sync event is detected. You can specify another application or shell script to run on sync
by clicking Browse and navigating to that application in the Select program to sync Palm device
         dialog that displays.
    * PDAs running Microsoft Windows: Select the Sync PocketPC devices when connected check-
box to activate a specified application when you request synchronization from your PocketPC
or other Windows CE device. When this checkbox is selected, Ubuntu is configured to run the
multisync application when a PocketPC Sync event is detected. You can specify another appli-
cation or shell script to run on sync by clicking Browse and navigating to that application in the
Select program to sync PocketPC device dialog that displays.
Depending on the operating system that your PDA uses, you must configure the gpilotd-control-
applet or multisync
applications before you can successfully synchronize data in either direction. See
“PDAs, Smart Phones, and Ubuntu  later in this chapter for details.

PDAs, Smart Phones, and Ubuntu
Personal Digital Assistants are a great tool for simple tasks such as managing calendars and making quick
notes. If yours is network-enabled and your eyesight is good enough, it’s also possible to browse the Web,
send and receive e-mail, and even work with documents in a variety of popular desktop software formats,
all from a device that you can easily tuck into a purse or shirt pocket. All of the software that you need to
synchronize a PDA that runs the Palm OS comes preinstalled on your Ubuntu system, and the software to
synchronize a Microsoft Windows for PocketPC or Microsoft Windows CE PDA is just a repository away.
The next two sections discuss how to install, configure, and use the software that you’ll need to synchronize
almost any PDA with the data stored on your Ubuntu Linux system.

Configuring and Synchronizing Palm OS Devices
As discussed in “Configuring PDA and Smart Phone Recognition  earlier in this section, a standard Ubuntu
Linux installation includes a panel applet called gpilot. (This application is also sometimes referred to as
gnome-pilot, its package name, or as pilot-link.) The section of Chapter 5 entitled “Customizing
Panel Contents  explained how to add an applet to the panel — in a nutshell, click on the panel, select the
applet that you want to add from the dialog that displays, and drag it to the panel location where you want
it to appear. The panel applet synchronizing with PDA running the Palm OS is called “Pilot Applet,  and is
located in the utilities section of the Add to Panel dialog.
Once you add the gpilot applet to your panel, you’ll need to configure how it communicates with your
 Palm.
The first time that you start the gpilot applet, it displays a wizard that walks you through the
TIP              configuration process. These steps are the same as those discussed in this section and occur in
the same sequence. This section discusses them as manual steps because the gpilot wizard only runs the
first time that you start gpilot — if you ever need to reconfigure or modify your synchronization settings,
you’ll need to do that manually, as described in this section.
To configure your synchronization settings, click the gpilot icon in the panel.

I'm trying to connect a pocket pc to Ubuntu 6.10. When I connect the
device Linux seems to pick it up correctly but then disconnects almost
immediately. Below is the output from dmesg. I've
checked /proc/bus/usb/devices and for a short while it also lists the
device correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Artikel Januari 2007The purpose of this guide is to allow newer WM5 devices like HTC Wizard, Prophet to connect to Ubuntu Edgy 6.10and be able to share files, install stuff. This guide will take about one hour to complete, depending on your skills etc.
First, let's install synce-trayicon. It won't work yet, but when we're done, it will give you a tray icon like this:

Ahora solo me falta aprender ruso http://foro.todopocketpc.com/showthread.php?s=59148f9f773e8050d21dd70da79318fc&t=133646&page=3

Unable to initialize RAPI / Failed to get connection info

Q: I setup everything and connected my PDA but when I try the tools I get a message similar to this in SynCE 0.8 or later:

pstatus: Unable to initialize RAPI: An unspecified failure has occurred

Or this message in earlier versions of SynCE:
ReadConfigFile: stat: No such file or directory
pstatus: Unable to initialize RAPI: Failure

If I add -d 4 as parameters to pstatus, I get this a message like this too:
[synce_info_new:31] unable to open file: /home/david/.synce/active_connection
[rapi_context_connect:88] Failed to get connection info

A: This means that the PDA has not connected to dccm or that you run the tools and dccm as different users. Please make sure that:
    1. you are not using an external USB hub
    2. you have installed the patch for the "we're stuffed" bug
    3. you supplied a password to dccm if your device is password-protected
    4. dccm was started before you ran synce-serial-start
    5. that the PPP connection is successful (look in your system logs)
    6. no firewall configuration prevents the PDA from connecting to dccm
    7. you run dccm and the tools as the same user

1) Kernel Headers installed:
2)   CONFIG_USB_NET_CDCETHER compiled either into the kernel
