« Gepost op: 2006/12/31, 12:48:11 »
Hay,

Citaat
Installation

These directions assume that you have a full partition allocated for Linux or that you are ready to wipe all data in your hard drive. You can allocate a Linux partition on your hard drive and dual boot with windows. I would suggest Partition Magic for doing the partitioning; If you have more experience making partitions you can try the GParted live CD.

Insert the CD with the Xubuntu drapper image (ISO) into your CDROM unit and restart the laptop. Then when installation menu show up press the F6 button and add the following line to the installation command rule:
floppy=thinkpad pci=noacpi

Before I used to use the following command that is more restrictive, I think the last command is enough but if you want more control here it is:
floppy=thinkpad acpi=off noapic apm=off acpi_irq_isa=10

Then press "Enter" and the installation will begin. The rest of this process is very simple and it doesn't require more explanation just keep in your mind that if you have an Japanese keyboard you should mark "jp106" option when the installation program ask you for a keyboard layout.
