Ik heb het gevoel dat mijn grafische ATI Mobility Radeon x1300 niet goed werkt. Kan iemand even naar mijn info kijken of hij of zij iets kan ontdekken?

Hey,

waarom denk je dat het niet goed werkt? Aan deze info te zien werkt alles. De drivers van ati voor linux hebben wel niet zo'n goede performance en zijn iets minder stabiel, bedoel je dit?

Ik vraag me dit af, omdat mijn desktop effects niet werken. Tevens zag ik de lage performance. Maar hoe zit het nu precies met die drivers?

- Je hebt opensource drivers en drivers van ATI, toch?
- Welke zijn de restricted drivers?
- En welke heb ik in gebruik.
- De prestaties van de opensource zijn minder dan die van ATI?
- Welke drivers zijn geschikt voor desktopeffecten?

De restricted drivers zijn de drivers van ATI, deze gebruik je momenteel, dit is te zien aan het stukje code in je xorg.conf:

Section "Device"

moest er "ati" gestaan hebben i.p.v. "fglrx" dan gebruikte je de open source drivers, deze worden geschreven door linux- ontwikkelaars. Jouw grafische kaart wordt momenteel nog niet ondersteund door de open source drivers.
De prestaties van de opensource drivers zijn iets minder goed dan de restricted drivers.
Om beryl te gebruiken wordt de open source driver aangeraden omdat deze daar stabieler mee samenwerkt, maar aangezien deze nog niet ondersteund wordt voor jouw kaart...
Het is ook mogelijk om met de drivers die je nu gebruikt beryl te gebruiken maar daarvoor moet je eerst xgl installeren. Mss even op google zoeken voor een howto.
