On 27 April 2011, Ubuntu Fryslân talked about a potential Release Party to celebrate Ubuntu 11.04 the next day at my place. It wouldn't probably be the most visited party, but it would be nice to see each other again. Two people visited the party and other saw us by video stream. Ynze Ritsma and Cas Widdershoven visited the party. Marten de Vries couldn't come unfortunately. Sense Hofstede didn't hear about it in time. After Cas had guitar lesson he wanted to go to the ReleaseParty but he had to wait more than half an hour and when the bus came, he had to travel for 45 minutes. He arrived at 4:30 PM. We both liked the afternoon, we much talked about computer stuff. We talked also about the next release party. Our conclusion was that we have to organize it much earlier not one day before takeoff. Cas left at 6:50 PM.Twenty minutes later Ynze came in, I called him that morning to ask if he would like to come to the Release party of Ubuntu 11.04. So we could install it on his notebook. Normally it costs 20 minutes to install Ubuntu but we wanted to upgrade 11.04 to keep all apps and settings. We tried 2 times which costs us 1.7 hours, it didn't work. To partially solve this, we removed all directories on the partition except the home dir. Next we installed it on that partition without format it. It worked and we installed after plenty of work 11.04 successfully. It was a successful day but without much visitors but that is logical when you consider that this event was organized one day before.Gallery of this event is in my flickr:http://www.flickr.com/photos/dooitzedejong/tags/nattyreleaseparty/
Even inhakend op deze party, komen er verder nog party's in het land? Of heb ik niet goed gelezen of iets gemist?
Ik wil wel komen maar als wat
