Goeie dag allen,

Mag ik even jullie aandacht vragen a.u.b. voor een raar probleem.

Het betreft een oude laptop met Intel Pentium M735 processor waar voorheen Windows XP op stond en nu Zorin Lite op is geïnstalleerd.
Dit ging vooraf al niet van een leien dakje.

Om van de live cd van Zorin OS 9 Lite te kunnen opstarten moest eerst forcepae en ACPI=off gebruikt worden omdat het hier gaat om een M700 series Pentium processor.
Uiteindelijk is het toch gelukt om de schijf te wissen en er Zorin OS 9 Lite LTS op te installeren.

Maar nu komt het.

Wanneer de computer opgestart wordt vind de computer geen OS en krijg je de melding: operating system not found

Nu heb ik het hele net al zitten doorzoeken maar ik vind geen oplossing, hopelijk kunnen jullie mij verder helpen.
Ondertussen heb ik reed een bootinfoscript laten draaien en dit is de uitkomst hiervan:

Bios goed ingesteld tav booten?

Probeer grub te heinstalleren, zoek met google op,
zorin+grub reinstall

Of (of grub herinstalleren)met supergrub proberen, op de  website supergrub vind je 2 cd's,
1 om te booten vanaf cd en dan naar een partitie springen waar je grub niet werkt
2 om grub via grafische menu te herinstalleren.
Probeer dus de 2e cd. Beide cdś kunnen nuttig zijn.

Vroeger was er ook vaak een probleem dat je /boot map, een aparte partitie moest hebben aan het begin van je harde schijf, anders kon je niet booten, of dit hier geld weet ik niet, lag dacht ik aan de bios/hardware.

We hebben Bios zo ingesteld dat hdd eerst moest opstarten maar kregen weer de melding dat er geen OS te vinden was. ("Operating system not found").

Probeer grub te heinstalleren, zoek met google op,

Ook het herinstalleren van de grub bracht ons geen soelaas. We krijgen nog steeds de melding "Operating system not found".

Of (of grub herinstalleren)met supergrub proberen, op de  website supergrub vind je 2 cd's,

2 om grub via grafische menu te herinstalleren.
Probeer dus de 2e cd. Beide cdś kunnen nuttig zijn.

Ik ga eens die website opzoeken en dit eens uitproberen (ik laat nog weten hoe het is gegaan). ;)

De rescatux cd heeft de grub opnieuw geïnstalleerd maar helaas kregen we bij een herstart terug de melding dat het OS niet gevonden was.

We hebben dan het OS maar opnieuw geïnstalleerd met deze keer de "something else" optie, maar helaas na het opstarten was het OS weer net te vinden.

Aangezien we konden installeren en partities maken met GParted waren we er van overtuigd dat het dus niet aan de harde schijf kon liggen maar aan het BIOS.

En jawel hoor, na het BIOS terug te zetten naar de standaard waarden kregen we plots de grub te zien. Eureka dus!

Het probleem is dus met deze opgelost. ;)
