Virtualbox 2.1 installatie met behulp van virtualbox-2.1_2.1.4-42893_Ubuntu_intr

Beste mensen,

Ik ben een tevreden (eind)gebruiker van Ubuntu. Onlangs heb ik release 8.10 op mijn IBM Thinkpad geïnstalleerd; bevalt ook goed. Nu wil ik graag Virtualbox installeren en dat mislukt . Ik krijg “Failed to fetch” errors (zie hierna voor de details) en moet de installatie afbreken. Ik heb alle documentatie-bronnen (UK & NL) op dit probleem gescanned maar kan geen bevredigend antwoord vinden. De verbinding met  het internet is 92% dus daar kan het niet aan liggen.

Wie kan mij verder helpen??

Ga eens naar Systeem=>Beheer=>Softwarebronnen, zet daar de downloadserver op "Hoofdserver".

Probeer daarna nog eens opnieuw.

Het is misschien ook handig om de repository van Virtualbox toe te voegen, dan hoeft ge niet via de deb te installeren en krijgt ge automatisch updates ervoor. Kijk hier eens: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads

U heeft de spijker op de kop geslagen XD, ik heb uw advies gevolgd en de installatie verliep fantastisch. Ik ben  nog een newbie en weet niet goed wat hoe ik uw tweede advies, toevoegen aan repository, uit moet voeren.

Open de terminal en tik in:

Code: [Selecteer]

sudo gedit /etc/apt/source.listScrol naar de onderkant van het bestand en voeg het volgende toe (in je 8.10 (Intrepid)) (Kopiëer en Plak):

Code: [Selecteer]

deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian intrepid non-freeOpslaan en afsluiten.

Ook in terminal:

Code: [Selecteer]

wget -q http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/sun_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -

En om virtualbox te installeren via de terminal:

Code: [Selecteer]

sudo apt-get install virtualbox-2.1
