hulp met instaleren .tar.gz en .sh

hallo,is er iemand die mij juist kan uitleggen hoe je deze bestanden instaleert,wandt krijg het maar niet voor mekaar ,vb kprobeer mail notification te instalere en dan krijg ik dit in mijn terminal kan iemand uitlegge wat ik mis doe?en ook hoe installeer je een tar.gz zonder sh in?

probeer eens commando: make install of alleen make; ben ook een newbie of dummie.

Als newbie lijkt me niet handig om zelf de boel te compileren. Kijk eens in synaptic. Daar staan een aantal applicaties in doen wat jij wilt. Gewoon zoeken met het woord "notifier".

Wel eerst even de Univers repro inschakelen volgens deze link.

heb al geprobeerd via synaptic ma daar kan ter nie alles mee instalere omda ter nx van cipherpunk kan afhale

Kijk eerst eens in Synaptic. Systeem > Beheer > Synaptic pakketbeheer en zoek op mail-notification. Daar zit ie gewoon in namelijk. Er komt geen moeilijk gedoe aan te pas.

Mocht je mail-notification niet kunnen vinden, zet dan universe en multiverse even aan in Synaptic. Hoe dat moet kun je hier lezen:

Er zitten zo ontzettend veel programma's in Synaptic dat je maar zelden van websites hoeft te downloaden en zelf hoeft te installeren.

Maar is 't gewoon voor mail-notification?
sudo apt-get install mail-notification    (zit gewoon in Universe)

k,ben al een stap verder geraakt,krijg al ./configure gedaan maar daarna kan ik mene make nie doen kzal hier nog es zegge wa ik trug krijg en bartek kheb gezien in synaptic daar staat alleen versie 2.0 en ik probeer 3.0 te instalere

1. als je gaat compileren terwijl dat niet hoeft is dat je eigen keuze he het kan veel eenvoudiger als je jezelf tevreden zou stellen met de oudere versie 2.0

2. om op je fout te reageren, ./configure verteld dat er een error is.. je mist XML::Parser, een perl module:

installeer die eerst:

(maar een gok, via apt-cache gezocht op perl|grep xml)
sudo apt-get install libxml-libxml-perl

Ik gebruik geen evolution, ik ben van de nieuwe webgeneratie ik check mails bijna altijd via internet...

is een gewoonte want eigenlijk is een lokale mail client wel handiger..

Wat lukt er precies niet/welke foutmelding krijg je bij mail-notification-evolution ?

heb nog iet geprobeerd,heb opt net mail-notification-evolution gevonde een .deb file voor de juiste ubuntu die ik heb maar alsk em open krijg ik error: dependecy is not satisfiable: evolution
