resolutie in Mint 13 Maya Mate

Sinds een aantal weken in het bezit van een laptop van Bto met SSDrive 128 Gib.
Ik heb daar Xubuntu opgezet,  draaide alles goed  totdat na een week of zo de resolutie ineens , bij het opstarten, was veranderd naar 640-480. met  geen mogelijkheid om dit weer goed in te stellen.
Dus ben ik een andere installatie aangegaan, ditmaal Mint 13 Maya Mate. Draaide ook goed maar na een paar dagen weer het geval met de resolutie die weer was veranderd. ik heb nog in het venster "schermen"gekeken maar daar is geen mogelijkheid om de resolutie weer terug goed te zetten.
Dus mijn vraag is, wat is hier aan de hand.
Heeft dit iets met de Nvidia drivers te maken?
In het venster"Extra niet-vrije stuurprogramma's "staat dat er geen niet-vrije stuurprogramma's  in gebruik zijn op deze computer hoewel ik die mogelijkheid bij het installeren wel heb aangevinkt.
Es is vast wel iemand die mij kan helpen dit  probleem op te lossen.

Dit klopt, had ik ook en heel vele andere met mij, want de server waar dit opstaat is even van slag, zullen we maar zeggen.
Doe het volgende:

Open softwarebronnen en ga naar het eerste tabblad (zo start hij dus ook op)
Dan zie je staan bij Downloaden van: Hoofdserver.
Verander dit door op het pijltje te klikken en vervolgens klik je http://mintlinux.mirror.triple-it.nl/packages aan en sluit af.
Daarna doe je in de terminal het volgende:

sudo apt-get update en als dat klaar is doe je

sudo apt-get upgrade
en alles gaat dan goed,.

Bedankt voor de tip femke98, ook met Mint 14 zijn de update probleempjes door een overbelaste server opgelost.

Nog maar eens het hele traject van Femke door gelopen, en wel degelijk de server veranderd naar: http://mintlinux.mirror.triple-it.nl/packages .
Heb ook de nederlandse  taal helemaal weggehaald en weer geïnstalleerd,daarna weer  de update en de upgrade gedaan,heeft alles niet het gewenste resultaat.

Er staan inderdaad twee adressen  van" Google.com" in de software bronnen.
Maar na die te hebben uit gevinkt nogmaals alles weer opnieuw gedaan maar om nu weer zonder
succes.De resolutie blijft onveranderd op 640-480 staan.
Ik heb ook al in mijn eerste bericht gemeld dat dit me ook is overkomen toen ik XUBUNTU draaide
,en dat ik daarna pas MINT heb geïnstalleerd,nadat ook de resolutie spontaan was veranderd in
xubuntu, en dat is ook in het begin goed gegaan,maar dan
veranderde de resolutie ook spontaan bij het opstarten.

Ook heb ik de installatie van Bumblebee toegepast.
Dus ik weet het niet meer.

zoals gezegd,met dit probleem heb ik ook met Xubuntu te maken gehad,dan kan het,volgens mij, toch niets met iets  specifieks  van  Mint te maken hebben?Of zit ik dan helemaal fout.

Probeer het eens met Mint 14 http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
Xubuntu 12.04 en Mint 13 draaien met dezelfde motor . Ik zou de tip van Pjotr wel proberen.

Al vindt ik het wel jammer, ik had 13 al zo mooi naar m'n hand gezet,maar dat zal met 14 ook wel lukken.
Als het na verloop van tijd toch weer mis gaat zie je me wel weer op het forum

Ik woon in Westland

Maar ik heb 13 er al afgegooid en ben nu met Mint 14 bezig te installeren.
In ieder geval bedankt voor het mee denken.
Ik had graag mint 13 behouden vanwege  de LTS versie en omdat ik hem zo mooi had "aangekleed"
Als het ook met 14 fout gaat zie je me wel weer terug hier.

Via commando xrandr in het terminalvenster kun je meer info over de beschikbare resoluties. Wellicht kun je de juiste resolutie voor je monitor zelf toevoegen. Zie hierover deze topic op pc active Resolutie aanpassen/Juiste drivers zoeken LinuxMint.
