Schermresolutie wijzigen in Ubuntu?

Hi, Heb net Ubuntu geinstalleerd En de schermresolutie staat op 1024x768 en 60Hz. Hoe kan ik die veranderen in 1152 x 864 en 75Hz? Ik heb een Nvidia kaart GeForce FX 5200. Moet ik eerst de drivers installeren? Maar welke?

Die kan je installeren via System > Administration > Restricted driver manager

Heb ik gedaan maar dan kan ik nog steeds niet 1152 x 864 kiezen. ook maar 50Hz dan???

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
Met alles akkoord gaan en de juiste resolutie selecteren met de pijltjestoetsen en je spatiebalk;
daarna de schermresolutie instellen bij systeem -> voorkeuren -> resolutie

Toepassingen->Hulpmiddelen->Terminalvenster
Je krijgt dan een terminalvenster waar je commando's kunt invoeren.
Voer het commando in wat bartek zei :

er word om je password gevraagd, toets dit in en doorloop de 'wizard' volgens de aanwijzingen van bartek:

Heb met pijltjes NVIDIA gekozen en de juiste resolutie maar de schermresolutie instellen bij systeem -> voorkeuren -> resolutie geen 1152 x 864 te vinden

Heb net eens herstart en 1152 x 864 staat er nog steeds niet bij???

Ik kreeg deze melding in terminal:

xserver-xorg postinst warning: overwriting possibly-customised configuration
   file; backup in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.20070516110102

???  Heb ik je niet verteld om overal mee akkoord te gaan en enkel de resolutie aan te passen?
Waarom kies je dan bij driver NVIDIA?
Waarschijnlijk krijg je daarom deze waarschuwing. Je xorg.conf bestand zal tilt slaan.

Ja, heb de juiste drivers geinstalleerd. Heb NVIDIA gekozen en dat had ik niet mogen doen zeker? Maar hoe stond het dan? Als ik het nu open staat er steeds NVIDIA? Wat moet ik dan kiezen?

Als je een backup hebt van /etc/X11/xorg.conf dan kun je die terugzetten en het nog eens proberen.

je xorg.conf ziet er goed uit.
ik denk niet dat je de oude moet terugzetten.

Probeer nogmaals het stuurprogramma voor de videodriver te installeren en post dan dit gedeelte hier eens:
