Ik heb vista staan op mijn eerste harde schijf en ubuntu op mijn 2de harde schijf. Als ik de pc opstart kan ik kiezen tussen vista en ubuntu maar standaard kiest hij ubuntu (wat mijn vriendin niet leuk vindt,grr).
Wat moet ik veranderen dat hij vista als eerste kiest. Liefst in mensentaal want ik ben verre van een pc specialist :-)

Ik heb dus naar de documentatie geweest maar heb problemen met de laatste stap.

Naar waar moet ik dit juist plakken ? Is wel vista van mij maar denk niet dat dit een verschil maakt ?

Als je dat blokje over Windows als eerste plaatsen, exact opvolgt, kan het niet mis gaan.

Als je in je editor het bestandje menu.lst hebt geopend, zie je op enig moment de regels:

# Put static boot stanzas before and/or after AUTOMAGIC KERNEL LIST

### BEGIN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST
## lines between the AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST markers will be modified
## by the debian update-grub script except for the default options below

Je moet dus het Windows gedeelte van je opstartlijst (helemaal onder in ditzelfde bestandje) knippen en BOVEN de drie ###  terugplakken.

Dan staat Windows bovenaan en blijft ook bovenaan staan als er een update of zelfs upgrade is geweest.

Wel even niet vergeten, dat net boven de Windows sectie (helemaal onderaan menu.lst dus!) ook nog twee regels staan, die je onzichtbaar kan maken. Die regels heten iets van "other operating systems"  o.i.d. Voor die regels kan je ook een # zetten.

Ik denk dat dit gelukt is. PC houdt wel een raar geluid tijdens opstartten,kan dit daar mee te maken hebben of zou louter toeval zijn ?

Ik weet niet zeker wat je bedoelt, maar als je vindt dat het opstartscherm (waar je kan kiezen welk besturingssysteem wordt gestart) te lang blijft hangen, dan kan je ook de tijd die hij wacht veranderen in hetzelfde bestandje...

Ikzelf heb 'm op 2 seconden staan: dit is net genoeg tijd om een ander besturingssysteem te selecteren, maar het is niet hinderlijk.

NB: Zodra je de pijltjestoets aanraakt loopt de tijd niet meer af.

Ik denk niet dat dit het probleem is. Het "vreemde" geluid begint vanaf ik mijn pc opstart tot vista opent.
Vista start standaard op. Kan het iets te maken hebben dat hij iets zoekt tijdens de opstart die ik verander heb ( editor bestandje menu) in ubuntu  ?
