I have done my windows installation this way.
1. Download VMware for linux (trial version)
2. Create a virtal machine and store the snapshot.
3. Install Windows XP to the virtal machine.
From now on you don't need VMware (trial version) any longer, because you
can use the free VMware viewer to start Windows XP in a windows on the
Linux Desktop.
Data exchange is done via Samba shares.
My configuration is like this:
Virtual machine with 20 GB drive C: for Windows XP pro and programs.
Data files on network devices (Samba shares)
Main aim to install Windows XP was to use my parallelport scanner (not
supportet by Linux). It works!
