Failed to start Load Kernal Modules Ubuntu 16.04 MATE 64 bits

Na de oorspronkelijk euforie over de installatie van Ubuntu Mate 16.04  met de 4.x
kernel gisteren  wel 4x vastgelopen met genoemde Failed to start melding.
(is ernstig toch ?)

het systeem bevriest (b.v. tijdens schaken via chess.com)
alleen opstarten helpt.

via recovery mode geprobeerd via enable networking en andere commandline
instructies (zoals dpkg --configure -a)  e.e.a. te herstellen maar dat lukt niet.


Wat nu ? 

1) de 32 bits versie  van Ubuntu mate 16.04 installeren  ?     

2) terug naar 15.04 (met oude 3.19 kernel) ?

32 bits ubuntu 16.04 versie liep ook alweer vast via DVD opgestart

terug naar 15.04 met kernel 3.19 waar ik nooit systeemproblemen had.

of weet iemand nog een goede oplossing ?

15.04 is morsdood en dus onveilig. Geen goede oplossing.....

Helpt dat onvoldoende, installeer dan de lichtgewicht Linux Mint 18 Xfce, in de 32-bits-editie:

Het is een oud beestje, dus vandaar mijn advies om 32-bits eens te proberen..... Mogelijk doet een 32-bits-kernel het beter.

Gisteravond paar uur zonder problemen  met mate 16.04 64 bits gewerkt
NU is het weer helemaal mis ga linuxmint-18-xfce-32bits downloaden........

inxi -U is bewust uitgeschakeld door de ontwikkelaars van Mint. Als er een relevante bijwerking is, dan krijg je die via de gewone updates.

Ondanks de Failed to start Load Kernal Modules  Ubuntu 16.04 MATE 64 bits melding op mijn laptop werkt alles
zoals ik inmiddels een paar weken konstateer probleemloos ! en dat is toch wel een opmerkelijke konstatering of niet ?

belangrijk commando hierbij is : systemctl

vraag waar ik mee blijf zitten : mis ik dan toch ergens een service en welke Kernel module isnot loaded ?
