Ubuntu 8.04 en ATI mobility readon 9200

Ik heb de drivers geinstalleerd zoals op deze pagina

maar mijn 3d blijft erg slecht zie de output van glxgears

296 frames in 5.2 seconds = 57.396 FPS
260 frames in 5.0 seconds = 51.879 FPS
260 frames in 5.1 seconds = 50.584 FPS
260 frames in 5.8 seconds = 44.638 FPS

wat kan ik doen om dit te verbeteren ook als ik mijn ati driver wil configureren via:

 sudo aticonfig --initial -f

kan ik het terug zetten naar default?

als ik dit commando uit voor dan kan ik weer in gnome komen: sudo dpkg-reconfigure  xserver-xorg

als iemand mijn kan helpen dan hoor ik het graag.

3rd Party documentatie wordt niet ondersteund. Je eerste plek om documentatie te zoeken, hoort de Ubuntu wiki te zijn.  glxgears is geen goede benchmark, dus het boeit niet, het gaat erom dat je 3D drivers enabled zijn.

Post hier eens de inhoud van xorg.conf.
In een terminal

gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

en dan knippen en plakken.

ik heb nu het systeem als standaard geinstalleerd staan.

als ik naar systeem>voorkeuren>uiterlijk ga en ik enable daar de 3d

Dan roept hij desktop effects cannot be enabled?

als ik dan  sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl doe

en daarna het zelfde dan kan ik de 3d wel aan zetten maar is verschrikkelijk traag.

ook blijven er hier en daar wat strepen staan.

ook geef de gnome manager nog wat een fout dat hij te veel keer is gestart of zo?

heeft iemand dit ook?


ik zal voor de zekerheid mijn config plaatsen
