Beryl/fglrx op Edgy Eft

ik heb dus naar EE kunnen upgraden maar nu werkt Beryl niet meer
het icoontje staat er maar meer ook niet

ik denk dat het aan FGLRX ligt (gokje )

iemand een idee ?

waarschijnlijk heb je gelijk. het lijkt op een probleem met je grafische kaart en de daarbij behorende drivers.

dus moet ik men drivers (Ati) opnieuw installeren ?

ik heb bijna alles geherinstalleerd

ik kan alleen geen andere icoontjes kiezen
ik kan ze wel aanduiden,maar er gebeurd gewoon niets
dit heeft niets met beryl te maken hoor,maar dit is gewoon nog een probleem

Ik zou me eerlijk gezegd niet aan Beryl wagen zonder te weten hoe de configuratie ineen steekt... En de combinatie met Edgy is ook al niets voor beginners.

Ik las ergens dat Beryl ook een knokpartijtje met VMware niet uit de weg gaat.

ik ben ook een beginner maar beryl en edgy werken bij mij redelijk naar behoren hier en daar wat foutjes maar niet iets waar ik direct last van heb.

gnome-settings-daemon tijp in de terminal,maar als dat terminal venter aflsluit,is alles weer zoals "vroeger"

VMWare Workstation + Beryl werkt prima samen, als je dat bedoelt

was normaal gezien in begin oktober al gefixt. Welke versie van beryl draai je nu?

For those who want to still utilize gnome GTK themes and icon settings you will need to do the following:

   1. Go to System --> Preferences --> Sessions
   2. Click the "Add" button and type in 'gnome-settings-daemon'
   3. Exit
   4. For people using who want to start this before you restart X simply type 'gnome-settings-daemon &' in a console.

Dat is normaal. Onder Xgl heb je een soort van indirecte rendering, omdat alles via Xgl gaat in plaats van rechtstreeks OpenGL... is dus normaal

ik heb nog een klein vraagje over Linux

ik heb hier nog een oude pc staan (100 mhz pentium 1.64mb RAM)
kan ik daar nog een linuxdistro opzette,zodat nu alles wat sneller gaat ? (nu draait het windows 98 SE,want het heeft een draadloze netwerkkaart en dat ondersteund win 95 niet meer )
