Ik heb de oplossing van Lizardman geprobeerd en deze lijkt te werken. Nu heb ik nog steeds het heen en weer gaande balkje, maar het gaat slechts één keer snel heen en weer.

Verder ben ik toch maar even aan de slag gegaan met de tip van Markba: ik zag ik ook een paar foutmeldingen tijdens het booten in tekstmodus. Na even googlen kwam ik erachter dat je het boot-log kan weergeven via "dmesg". Hieronder de output. (is heel veel trouwens) Ik zag dat een driver van m'n webcam verouderd is. Dit klopt overigens ook, want m'n geïntegreerde microfoon doet het niet. Voor de rest kon ik weinig geks ontdekken, maarja ik weet er dan ook zeer weinig vanaf!

Bij mij is het oook het geval bij opstarten dat het balkje een paar keer heen en weer gaat voor dat deze opstart heb ook volgens de oplossing van Lizardman, maar dit werk bij mij niet, en waar de fout ligt in de boot-log tekst weet ik ook nog niet en de oplossing misschien hier iemand ?

Bij mij gaat het balkje ook een keer heen en weer, en dan begint ie vol te lopen. Maar voorheen was het dat hij zeker 30 seconden bleef hangen bij het heen en weer gaan, dus dat vond ik wel een verbetering :-)

Als het bij zoveel mensen voorkomt denk ik eigenlijk niet dat het om een verkeerd geinstalleerde kernel gaat. Het zal wel een keer via een (kernel) update uit de wereld geholpen worden denk ik. (...hoop ik..).

Maar voorlopig kan ik wel leven met deze oplossing, het lijkt verder geen nadelige gevolgen te hebben op het systeem en hij start nu in ieder geval een stuk sneller op :-)

.... krijg je vanzelf een notificatie per mail dat deze opgelost is en kun je, als je dat wilt, de toegevoegde optie ('clocksource=hpet') verwijderen.

Je kunt, als je ingelogd bent op launchpad, bij de bug links boven klikken op subscribe.
Dan ben je geabonneerd op de bug en krijg je mail als er iets gebeurt.

Die mail zal helaas wel in het engels zijn, maar je hoeft zelf geen engels te (kunnen) schrijven om je op de bug te abonneren.

Het toevoegen van niet ter zake doende commentaren ('ik heb dit ook') wordt om begrijpelijke redenen en over het algemeen niet op prijs gesteld bij Launchpad; doe dat dus alleen maar als je van mening bent dat het daadwerkelijk iets toevoegt aan de mogelijke oplossing (en niet alleen om b.v. mail te ontvangen).

Het inschrijven (abonneren) is inderdaad de gebruikelijke weg. Bovendien, als je alleen maar commentaar hebt toegevoegd, ben je niet automatisch geabonneerd...

Toch wel. Hoe meer mensen op Launchpad bevestigen dat ze een bepaalde bug hebben, hoe eerder die wordt gerepareerd. Dat is namelijk een signaal voor de ontwikkelaars, dat het blijkbaar een wijdverspreide fout is en niet beperkt tot een kleine groep (met wellicht uitzonderlijke hardware).

Simpelweg "I can confirm this" melden op Launchpad, is dus wel degelijk zinvol.

Voor wat betreft het 'me too' op launchpad is het m.i. toch wel zinvol om iets meer informatie over het systeem en de omstandigheden te geven als alleen maar "I can confirm this bug". Zodat de mensen die eraan werken kunnen zien dat het bijv. voorkomt op andere configuraties als waarvan het bekend was dat de bug voorkwam.

Dat is precies wat ik zeg: niet alleen 'dit heb ik ook' toevoegen, maar alleen als de omstandigheden *anders* zijn als beschreven, dan voegt het inderdaad iets toe aan de oplossing.

Het aantal inschrijvingen (zie bovenste quote) geeft een richtlijn hoeveel mensen dat er in totaal van die bug last hebben, en hoe meer mensen, hoe harder er aan getrokken wordt.

Ik zie dat je tussen de subscribers staat, dit houdt in dat je iedere keer als er iets verandert in de bug of als er mensen iets aan toevoegen of de status van de bug verandert je een mailtje krijgt. Het is inderdaad jammer dat het alleen in het engels is, vooral als je engels niet zo goed is, maar daar is niet veel aan te doen vrees ik.

Als je om een of andere reden geen mailtjes over deze bug meer wilt ontvangen dan kun je op de plek waar je op 'subscribe' hebt geklikt nu op 'unsubscribe' klikken en dan krijg je geen mailtjes meer over deze bug.
