Sweex Wireless LW322 300n Card Ubuntu 11.10

Hoi,

Van de week heb ik een nieuw wireless pci kaart gehaald. Door Ziggo is immers de snelheid verhoogd, en deze ligt nu boven de cappaciteit van mijn oude 802.11g netwerk kaart.  Mijn keuze was gevallen op de "Sweex Wireless LW322 300n Card"

Maar na de montage en het opstarten van de PC heb ik ineens helemaal geen draadloze verbinding meer. Ubuntu "ziet" de PCI kaart niet. Tenminste, niet in de GUI. Als ik vervolgens met iwconfig aan de slag ga, wordt de kaart wél gevonden. Ik kan echter mijn WPA key niet invoeren. Ik krijg de volgende foutmelding:
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
    SET failed on device wlan1 ; Invalid argument.
Hier kom ik dus niet verder mee.

Om toch online te kunnen heb ik mijn oude kaart er bij gezet, de PC weer opgestart en voila!
Maar mijn nieuwe Sweex werkt nog steeds niet.
Als ik iwconfig invoer krijg ik de volgende melding:

Voor de duidelijkheid, wlan1 is dus mijn Sweex.
De kaart werkt overigens wel onder Windows 7. Dit heb ik namelijk getest op mijn Windows partitie.

Iemand suggesties?

Kan je een terminal openen(onder Hulpmiddelen) en dan typen lsusb -v (de eerste letter is een kleine L) en geef een ENTER.
Kan je de uitkomst hier posten? Ik denk dat je de juiste driver moet installeren, middels het commando lsusb is er te achterhalen welke chip gebruikt wordt.

Het lijkt erop dat de "gewone gebruiker geen rechten heeft voor de USB te gebruiken.
Kan je dit commando eens typen in de terminal: sudo lsusb -v en geef een ENTER. Nu moet je het wachtwoord invullen, hier zie je niets van, gewoon "blind typen" en geef een ENTER. Als je nu geen melding krijgt, moeten de rechten aangepast worden voor de gebruiker(s).

Een WPA-key invoeren op die manier gaat niet werken, dat is enkel voor WEP.

Heb je hiervoor iets gewijzigd aan je systeem betreffende drivers voor deze kaart? Erg vreemd dat lsusb zo'n melding geeft.

En ik heb inderdaad een driver geinstalleerd.
Met behulp van ndiswrapper heb ik er de driver van Windows 7 opgezet die op de CD-rom van de Sweex staat.

Daar worden er 2 drivers geladen, waarvan de rt2800pci niet de goede is. Die kaart werkt wel met de rt3562sta driver.
Met het commando lsmod kun je zien of rt3562sta ook wordt geladen. Je kunt dan de rt2800pci op de blacklist zetten, zodat die niet meer wordt gebruikt, en er wordt teruggevallen op de rt3562sta driver.

Door middel van diverse links heb ik intussen een TGZ bestand gevonden waarmee ik een driver zou kunnen compileren.

Heb je het commando sudo make install uitgevoerd? Daarna de computer herstarten dan wordt de module (driver) in de kernel geladen.

De driver wordt nog steeds niet geladen en bij Kernel modules staan er nu 2 (?)

Ik heb het bestand met sudo make gecompileerd, vervolgens sudo make install uitgevoerd en het bestand naar de map /sbin gekopieërd.

Om de driver te laden zou ik het commando /sbin/insmod moeten geven.

Dit geeft de volgende foutmelding:
