Grub laadt Win Vista niet (winload.exe)

Beste mensen,

ik heb een IBM T43 laptop. Omdat ik wel van experimenten hou heb ik reeds allerlei besturingssystemen geprobeerd: Windows (unattended versies), Vista, Linux (Ubuntu, Edubuntu, Mandriva, PClinuxos, ...) MacOSX86,...

Het laatste plan was nu om een boot te maken met Ubuntu als hoofdbesturingssysteem en WinXP, Vista, MacOSX86 en Edubuntu er naast.

Ik heb via Gparted eerst de nodige partities gemaakt.

Bij de linux installaties heb ik eerst Edubuntu geïnstalleerd (zonder de bootloader te installeren) en vervolgens Ubuntu met grub.

Mac OSX86 heb ik zelf in grub toegevoegd en alles werkt, behalve Vista

Vista staat in de lijst, maar geeft bij het opstarten de fout dat hij volgend bestand niet vindt "winloader.exe"

Heeft iemand enig idee hoe ik dat kan oplossen?

Een repair van Vista is uitgesloten, want dan overschrijft de Vista bootloader mijn grub en dat wil ik niet.

Als ik de repair echter zou uitvoeren, maar eerst via gparted alle andere partities op hidden zou zetten (via manage flags), zou GRUB dan ook verdwijnen?

Kan iemand mij helpen dit laatste nog aan de praat te krijgen?

ps: bij het opstarten van Edubuntu krijg ik trouwens ook niet de grafische interface, maar alle processen die lopen (dus een hele hoop tekst). Kan ik dit ook ergens veranderen?

Dit is echter maar een klein probleempje vergeleken met Vista.

Vista is inderdaad je grootste probleem. Het is immorele software: installeer het niet Dat terzijde: ik wou alleen inspringen voor je kleine Edubuntu issue: ik vermoed dat je Edibuntu de (hd0,6) is? Dan zal je wellicht je grafische splash krijgen door ook daar

ro quiet splash

toe te voegen aan de kernel lijn.

PS: ik weet dat Vista niet erg populair is bij Linux mensen, maar ik heb nu eenmaal via een kennis die bij Microsoft werkt een code grkregen en dan is het toch interessant om dat eens te testen :-)

Als iemand mij kan helpen met Vista in GRUB te krijgen zonder de winloader.exe fout,  dat zou geweldig zijn.

Of is er mss een manier om de Vista loader te herstellen en GRUB te chainloaden met de overige besturingssystemen? Want XP start wel mooi op via GRUB (omdat ik die boot tijdens de installatie hidden had gemaakt voor Vista (via manage flags met gparted) heeft Vista er niet voor gezorgd WinXP in zijn bootloader op te nemen, maar mooi met rest te laten.

Als ik nu eens alle partities hidden maak, buiten Vista en dan de Vista bootloader herstel, zou het dan kunnen werken of wordt GRUB dan gewoon verwijderd?
