The only thing “Alpha” about Crunchbang’s latest version is the Openbox configuration. The rest of it is all Debian Testing (currently “Squeeze”) – far more stable and reliable than the Debian Unstable (“Sid”) foundation that some of the biggest and most popular Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, SuperOS, etc) are built on.
