Hallo allemaal.
Ik ben een echte nieuweling als het aankomt op het gebruiken en wegwijs worden met Ubuntu.
De desktop spreekt voor zich (GNOME). Maar nu komt het volgende:
Ik ben al een twee dagen aan het stoeien met Ubuntu om de Wanadoo Live box (internet) aan de praat te krijgen. Overigens gebruik ik geen ethernet aansluiting, maar een USB poort (geen wireless)
In elk geval ben ik zover dat ik het Terminalscherm kan vinden (lijkt op DOS).
Op 2 andere fora heb ik wat brokjes informatie kunnen verzamelen over mijn systeem.
Het komt erop neer dat de huidige instellingen van het systeem op ethernet staat; ze moet op USB worden ingesteld. En dat ze in een loopback staat.
Als ik ' cat /etc/network/interfaces ' typ dan zie ik:

Nu zijn mijn vragen: is de juiste USB kernel geladen (geloof dat het zo heet onder Linux?). Hoe kom ik uit die loopback? Hoe zorg ik dat de eth0 naar usb0 dhcp gaat?
En is het correct dat als ik nano voor iets typ, dat ik dan dingen kan veranderen?
Ik ben echt een n00b, dus als iemand bereid is, mij dit stap voor stap voor te kauwen, zodat ik weer fijn internet heb, dan ben ik zeer gelukkig.
Iemand gaf mij ook deze tip:
Probeer eens:
'nano /etc/network/interfaces'
Pas dan bij eth0 het volgende aan naar iets dergelijks als:
1 auto eth0
2 iface eth0 inet static
3 address 192.168.0.100
4 netmask 255.255.255.0
5 network 192.168.0.0
6 broadcast 192.168.0.255
7 gateway 192.168.0.1
Ik geef nu maar een voorbeeld, pas dit aan naar je eigen wens. Je kan op deze manier in iedergeval je PC een vast IP adres toewijzen.
De code 'nano /etc/network/interfaces' invoeren is mij duidelijk.
