Digikam loopt vast bij scannen van de (bron)map/Libraries

Ik ben nieuw met Ubuntu en Digikam. 't Ziet er veelbelovend uit.
Ubuntu 10.10 is geïnstalleerd en Digikam 1.4.0.
Installatie ging ok maar het scannen van de afbeeldingen die in de 'bronmap' zitten loopt vast.
In die bronmap zoals ik ze noem zitten verschillende submappen waarin de foto's zitten. Het gaat over bijna 50.000 jpg's uit de recovery van een foutief geformateerde schijf (NTFS naar Ext4). Met andere software kan ik de foto's perfect zien.

Ik krijg de volgende foutmelding

"Executable: digikam PID: 3015 Signal: 11 (Segmentation fault)".

Enig idee wat de bug is en hoe ik het kan verhelpen?

Probeer eens te upgraden naar DigiKam 1.5.0, de nieuwste stabiele versie. Als ik het me goed herinner is daar deze bug in opgelost.


Dit doe je heel gemakkelijk door te gaan naar Toepassingen>>>Ubuntu Softwarecentrum>>>Softwarebronnen>>>tabblad Software van derden (o.i.d.)
Voeg de volgende pakketbron toe via Toevoegen...:

ppa:ferramroberto/digikam

Deze pakketbron is zeer goed getest, hij wordt onderhouden door Linux Freedom For Life, een betrouwbare organisatie.
Herlaad de pakketbronnen (normaal gezien vraagt ie zelf al of je dit wilt) en installeer de updates. Nu heb je als het goed is DigiKam 1.5.0; checken kun je evt. via DigiKam>>>Help>>>Over DigiKam

OK, dank je, dat ga ik even proberen.
De oude versie er eerst afhalen waarschijnlijk.
Ik vind wat je vernoemt onder softwarebronnen > tab overige software > onafhankelijk 'aangeboden door ontwikkelaars van derde partijen', al of niet met broncode.
Beide kan ik aanvinken en vervolgens een APT regel invullen: ze vragen wel om een http adres maar dat hoeft misschien niet?

Ik heb Digikam 1.5.0 kunnen installeren via de terminal.
Maar wanneer ik mijn album ga scannen geeft hij na een 15 tal minuten een gelijkaardige fout:

Executable: digikam PID: 1864 Signal: 11 (Segmentation fault)

In versie 1.4.0 luidde de fout als volgt:

Hmm, het lijkt erop alsof er fouten gevonden zijn in je foto's. Heb je soms foto's met rare bestandsnamen (bijv. "Déze was van mij") of foto's met een foute extensie (bijv. jpg ipv png)?

't Gaat hier om heel veel foto's die ik terug gehaald heb met photorec recovery.
In de laatste recovery-map (photorec maakt blijkbaar mappen aan per 500 foto's) heb ik een hoop rommel teruggevonden  (afbeeldingen internet, systeem enz) en toen ik die map opendeed ging het ook fout met Gwenview. Ik heb die map nu naar de prullenbak gegooid en verwijderd.
Digikam is nu terug aan 't scannen en voorlopig nog zonder fout.
Ik hoop dat het ditmaal lukt. 'k Hou je/jullie op de hoogte.

Ja, Photorec maakt er nog wel een zooitje van, jammer genoeg.

We zijn weer een stapje verder.   Digikam heeft eergisteren het hele bronalbum ingelezen. Maar er stelt zich een nieuw probleem met Digikam: de software werkt bijzonder traag. Het voorstellen van de thumbnails loopt met horten en stoten zodat het onwerkbaar is. En zodoende raak ik dus niet verder met Digikam.
Misschien voer voor een nieuw onderwerp op dit forum of doen we daar hier mee verder?

Hier alvast wat info:
Digikam leest en schrijft naar het album op een externe schijf van WD 1,5 Terrabyte 7500 rpm (USB 2).
In het album (één map, geen submappen) zitten zo'n 40.000 foto's. Gwenview dat eenvoudigweg alleen maar foto's leest doet dat snel.

Hmm, dit is zeer vreemd
Inmiddels is er trouwens alweer DigiKam 1.6.0, dus even geduld, dan updaten en probeer het dan nog eens, want ik zie wel verschillende van dit soort soortgelijke dingen in de changelog staan dat ze opgelost zijn.
