boot vanaf een floppy

Ik heb nog een ouwe computer waar ik Ubuntu op wil installeren maar wat ik ook probeer ik krijg het niet voor elkaar om een bootfloppy te maken (deze computer wil niet booten vanaf een cdrom). Kan iemand mij vertellen hoe dit moet heb al van alles geprobeerd.

Ubuntu installeren via een floppy is iets wat niet ondersteund en zeker niet makkelijk is

Dit is wat ik er wel eens van gezien heb, ik heb het nooit zelf geprobeerd.

The author advises to use http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/lin...itewin-0.7.zip in windows to write a bootdiskimage http://slackware.at/data/slackware-c...s/sbootmgr.dsk to a diskette.

Put diskette and CDrom in the computer and restart.

(In linux you can make the diskette by writing
dd if=./sbootmgr.dsk of=/dev/fd0
in a console (terminal)

I am curious if this works.
