Hi all,
I want to give you some good news "unofficially" because I work for Liberty Global here in the Netherlands in the Digital Video Ops Team and I can assure you that we have been working on fixing this issue despite not having it reported officially by any Ziggo Customer Department to us.
I've been pushing for a fix for this issue since we first discovered it in our office back in January. Yes we also
have engineers ande developers using linux and yes we have been working in the background with several teams and vendors including Irdeto and Google to solve this situation.
Last week, after testing the new upgrade in labs we upgraded our RRM license manager in our preproduction environment to support VMP for linux desktops and the tests so far have been successful.
We are now waiting on a change to be scheduled for the production platform but please bear in mind this upgrade impacts several countries and platforms and it is not so easy to plan and get approval from all countries.
I cannot comment on why Ziggo support could not report this to us if you made a formal complaint via the official contact forums but we hope to have this issue resolved within the next few weeks.
Once it has been done I'll come back to update this post.
I understand the frustration you are experiencing. Unfortunately it is true what one post mentioned that Ziggo does not consider linux as one of their supported platforms (even though many of the backend systems run on it) and for this reason and the fact that the customer base using linux is very tiny in comparison to the other platforms probably played a role in not having this issue resolved faster.
I know its no excuse but please bear in mind also that we are working with many different countries and teams on a L1 to L3 level, work with vendors and developers and testers and we face a wide range of issues for several platforms (ios, android, windows, chromecast, appletv, androidtv, firetv, web, stb) and sometimes we have to prioritise other issues impacting bigger customer base numbers and officially supported platforms first.
On behalf of my team I do apologize and appreciate your patience while we finish resolving this issue.

Regards
Carles
