Hulp gevraagd bij draaiende krijgen Dell Latitude XT

Wie zouden mij willen loodsen door de harwareproblemen van een dell latitude xt?

- de wireless netwerkkaart wil niet reageren

- de muis springt vanaf het begin van de installatie over het scherm (ook onder Vista anyway, dus het lidgt niet aan linux) en selecteerd zelf van alles, niet mee te werken!

Misschien zijn er mensen die hier ervaring mee hebben of die-hards welke mij door de hardware problemen heen willen slepen.

Zodra mensen zich melden zal ik wat linkjes zenden van wat ik heb gedaan/ weet tot nu toe. Onderstaande heb ik al wel uitgezocht;

- Dell ppa heb ik toegevoegd in repository (ppa:dell-team/ppa)

- Ik begrijp dat ik windows drivers kan installeren onder bijv. Mint, maar die vraagt om een info file, terwijl de drivers van Dell exe files zijn http://downloads.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/latitude-xt.html

het is een laptop http://www.linlap.com/dell_latitude_xt  en er hangt een usb muis aan.

Het is een known issue op internet, zowel die muis als de wireless kaart problemen. Men raadt aan deze te installeren http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php, maar hoe? De readme is super ingewikkeld voor mij. Dell raadt aan voor de muis en touchpad windows drivers onder linux te installeren.

After this the touch screen was not working (expected) and the mouse continued stopped jumping.

That indicated that it was the N-Trig driver package that was causing the issue.

I restarted and reinstalled the N-Trig package

Since then I have not experienced the issue.

Deze http://www.ehow.com/how_5832143_fix-mouse-drift-dell-latitude.html voor de muis in onbruibaar, Alt P werkt niet in de Bios en ook de muis pointer etc staat niet als optie in de bios settings.

Met het muis probleem stop ik even, blijft over de wireless kaart, kan iemand mij helpen die te installeren volgens http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php  , maar hoe? De readme is super ingewikkeld voor mij.

Go to System->Administration->Hardware Drivers
Choose the Broadcom STA wireless driver
Activate

Sometimes the driver does not show up in the Hardware Drivers choices.  In
this case, try reintalling the driver from the GUI or shell like this:

From the GUI:
Package Manager (System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager). Click the
Reload button in the upper left corner of Synaptic to refresh your index then
search for and reinstall the package named bcmwl-kernel-source.

From the shell:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get --reinstall install bcmwl-kernel-source

In either GUI or text case, after reinstalling, reboot your machine.

Now go back to System->Administration->Hardware Drivers
and you should see the driver enabled and working.

dit is toch wel te volgen, heb je dit al gedaan?

Welke ubuntu probeer je te installeren dan? (of welke Mint)

Heb ik al 6 keer doorlopen (en alle andere opties), wireless lampje staat aan, wireless in netwerkmanager is niet aan te klikken (lichtgrijs). Ik heb nu Mint 13 (Precise 12.04), daarp doet de muis het minst gek.



Ik heb dit allemaal doorlopen, geen resultaat.

Je moet dit wel even uitvoeren met een internetkabeltje aan jou laptop...

Het gaat niet om Mint of 12.04, ik krijg de wireless kaart niet aan de gang, dat is het probleem.

Ik heb nog steeds geen wireless!

Ook al deze opdrachten geven geen enkele output;

rfkill list

Where rfkill disables wireless, and list lists all the radio frequencies.

If there is a soft block or a hard block please do:

rfkill unblock all

If that doe's not work try:

rfkill unblock wifi or rfkill unblock wlan

Now that we know that nothing is blocked let's look at your modules/drivers:

lsmod | grep b43

This will ls=list mod=modules/driver so ls+mod=list all modules | means stop and grep is the filter and b43 is what grep is looking for, do you see your modules listed?

If lsmod looks good let's move on to the firmware:

dmesg | grep b43

dmesg looks up what the linux kernel see's and grep is the filter IMPORTANT if you are using the b43sta then you need to type in wl instead of b43.




Maar nog steeds niets. net Ubuntu 12.04 opnieuw geinstalleerd, na install is wordt er automatisch een restricted driver geinstalleerd, ook geen wireless.

Of <FN>-toetscombinatie

en je zit op twee fronten tegelijk  (BCM4321 & TP-link TL-WN725N )
dat kan ook problemen geven

Op twee van mijn laptops kan ik de draadloze kaart aan of uitschakelen in de bios, ging ook een keer fout toen de batterij leeg was,
dit controleren s.v.p.

Doe is dmesg | grep -i firmware en lsmod | grep -i lw.

Als dit niks oplevert dan graag het hele resultaat van lsmod, netjes tussen codehaakjes.

Je zit zeker op Mint, bij Ubuntu worden geen drivers automatisch geïnstalleerd.

Wireless staat aan in bios, schijfje staat op aan, wifi lampje staat op aan, laptop op netstroom, verschillende keren geinstalleerd met alleen broadcom en andere keer alleen met TP-link (werkt ook niet overigens terwijl een Hercules HWGUSB2-54V2-AP usb stick out of the box wireless connectie geeft).

Wat betreft het automatisch installeren van drivers, juist Ubuntu doet dat en mint niet. Ik draai 12.04 met gnome-session fallback.

Dus eerst dmesg | grep -i firmware, die andere hoeft niet meer want  de module lw is inderdaad geladen.

Open synaptic klik op het vergrootglas en zoek op bcm.
Wat is er allemaal geinstalleerd? (het vierkantje is dan aangevinkt).
